Today’s episode features my longtime friend, Chris Messina, from when he graciously dropped in via Zoom as our Industry VIP to speak to the participants of our first Let's Shoot the Rehearsal Weekend-Intensive On-camera Retreat back in June of 2023 (we are very excited to be hosting our 4th iteration of the Weekend-Intensive next weekend). This is a MUST-LISTEN for the actors amongst you: Chris has made a career of coloring outside the lines, following his impulses and finding a unique way to interpret the material he works on.

This past year, his performance in Ben Affleck's Air, though only consisting of phone calls with Matt Damon's character, placed him on a multitude of shortlists for a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award. Ultimately, the nomination didn't come, but it's his ability and willingness to push the envelope and dig deeper than most other actors that has led to his long career working with the best in the business.

10,000 NOs podcast is now in it’s 2.0 phase: after a long pause from late 2021 to late 2023, it has returned in a more raw format: shorter episodes, like the Monday Morsels of yesteryear (they may be short, solo riffs by Matt on central themes of the pod, excerpts from Matt’s 10,000 NOs Insiders Community Zooms, or excerpts from Insiders VIP sessions with VIPs from the entertainment interview and beyond).
