It’s the ninth episode of our intimate sit-down with some of Hollywood’s well-known artists and rising stars that just so happen to also be close friends with On The List host Brett Gursky. Today’s guest Chris Rene (The X Factor) tells Brett all about his experience as a Top 3 contestant on the first season of “The X Factor”, and he also shares the story of where he was at in his life when he decided to audition for the show. Chris discusses the meaning behind his popular song “Young Homie”, which he also wrote, and he explains the lyrics and the message of the hit single. Chris also gives Brett the inside scoop on his brand new album “I’m Right Here”, which was just released on October 2nd and is available on iTunes, Amazon, and everywhere CDs are sold. As an added bonus, Chris and Brett are joined by musician Scott Simons, who first met Chris last year on “The X Factor” and now plays keyboard in his band for live performances and television appearances. Scott, who is also a member of his own band TeamMate, tells Brett about his musical background, how he learned to play the piano, and how he ultimately moved from West Virginia to Los Angeles and landed the job as a keyboardist on “The X Factor”. For the record, the guys joined Brett between rehearsals for their concert later that night, which would be Chris Rene’s very first show as the headliner and was taking place right across from our studio at the world famous Roxy on Sunset Boulevard.
