And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” — Genesis 3:15

The woman's Seed will crush the serpent's head. This is the first Gospel promise—the protoevangelion. Isaiah 53:5 shows the crushing: the Servant was marred and wounded for our transgressions. Jesus saying "this is your hour and the power of darkness" as He's arrested. The Son of God appeared to destroy the devil's works.

You heard Me say, ‘I am going away, and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. — John 14:28

"My Father is greater than I". Jesus says this in the context of His voluntary humiliation—the Son submits to the Father in the economy of redemption. John 10:30 says "I and the Father are one" in essence, yet John 14:10 shows the Father dwelling in Christ and doing His works. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. The Son's willing submission isn't inferiority of nature—it's the glory of the triune God's plan of salvation.

“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, — Ephesians 4:26

Don't let the sun go down on your anger. Paul doesn't say "never get angry"—he says deal with it before the day ends. The pattern: go to your brother, forgive seventy times seven. Put on compassion, kindness, humility, and forgiveness, just as Christ forgave you. Be kind, tenderhearted, forgiving one another as God in Christ forgave you.

You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, because he trusts in You. — Isaiah 26:3

Perfect peace for the mind stayed on You. That's not a formula for mental discipline—it's the fruit of fixing your gaze on a steadfast God. Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you. Not to be anxious but to pray, and the peace of God will guard our hearts. The work of righteousness will be peace.

When I lie down I think: ‘When will I get up?’ But the night drags on, and I toss and turn until dawn. — Job 7:4

"When will I arise and the night be gone?". The night feels long when you're in it. The morning comes, but also the night—yet the Coming One will not delay. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. We are children of the day and not of the night.

to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen. — Jude 1:25

The only wise God our Savior (Jude 25). Not one among many wise counselors, but the singular fountain of all wisdom. Christ Jesus became for us wisdom from God, along with righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. "Can you find out the deep things of God? No, but He reveals them to us by His Spirit. Wisdom from above as pure, peaceable, gentle.

who redeems your life from the Pit and crowns you with loving devotion and compassion, — Psalm 103:4

He redeems your life from destruction. Not just rescues you from hell—He redeems the whole story. The Lord a strong Redeemer who will plead their cause. He destroyed death and freed those held in lifelong fear. Your life is hidden with Christ in God.

For the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A song. Praise awaits You, O God, in Zion; to You our vows will be fulfilled. — Psalm 65:1

Praise waits for You, O God, in Zion. Not praise forced, but praise that's due—like a debt of gratitude gathering at the gates. There's one God, the Father, and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things exist. Offer the sacrifice of praise continually, the fruit of lips that confess His name. The scene: every nation, tribe, and tongue worshipping before the Lamb.

But will God indeed dwell with man upon the earth? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain You, much less this temple I have built. — 2 Chronicles 6:18

Will God actually dwell with men on earth?. Solomon marveled at it, but the answer is yes. Exodus 25:8 says "Let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. 're being built together into a dwelling place for God. The God of heaven doesn't keep His distance—by the Spirit, He makes His home in you.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. — 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Paul prays your whole being—spirit, soul, and body—be preserved blameless until Christ's coming. Christ's goal: presenting you spotless, without blemish. We present every person perfect in Christ Jesus. The peace of God will guard your heart and mind. God isn't just interested in your Sunday morning self—He's redeeming the whole person for the whole of life.
