Sunday Morning Teaching Hour- What about Israel- Has God rejected Israel- How are the promises made to Israel to be understood in light of the new covenant-

It's so easy for us to get caught up on Sabbath questions when we read the conflicts Jesus had with the Pharisees over the Sabbath. But what if there is a more fundamental, central point to these disputes- Here we see Jesus announce and demonstrate that He is creator and Lord, presenting the Jews -and us- with a central question- How will we respond to Him-

Why does Jesus turn the water into wine- What is the significance of this miracle- And why does He choose to do it at a wedding- Here we see that this miracle characterizes who Jesus is and what He came to give us, perhaps more than any other earthly miracle he performed.

In spite of all his suffering, how does Job persevere to day, -I know my redeemer lives-- Here we see that Job's faith is ground, not in the acts of God in his life -circumstances-, but in who God is in His eternal nature. And if we're to persevere though times of suffering, we need to be grounded in God's nature as well.

Sunday Morning Teaching Hour- The intersection of God's sovereignty and man's responsibility is seen here as Paul details how God uses means in the conversion of sinners. What then does this mean for Israel's rejection of their Messiah-

Is the doctrine of hell taught in the Old Testament- Here we see Job's friend Bildad deliver a fiery sermon on hell - though he points the finger at the wrong man.

What does the scripture mean when it says, -Baptism Now Saves You-- Here we see how baptism saves because it is parallel with a profession of faith in Christ, a vow to follow Christ in obedience, and a confirmation that God has poured out His saving grace on the baptized individual.
