Job's words have ended, and now Elihu appears on the scene as a prophet and a forerunner to prepare Job to meet his Maker. The call to wisdom and the place of suffering are now looked at from a fresh perspective, all pointing to the gospel as the epitome of the wisdom of God.

Here Job recalls his exceptional grace, and his extraordinary fall from grace. Is there perhaps a greater meaning to his circumstances- Does this not mirror our Lord Jesus Christ- Once again, the wisdom of God in Job points us to the cross.

In the face of all our agonizing questions in times of suffering, God instead calls us to turn our gaze upon Him. Job, in some sense, understands this, and so he warns his friends against refusing to hear the call of wisdom, and declares to them that true wisdom -is the fear of the Lord.-
