Last week we looked at the importance of Headship. Now we want to look at how head coverings relates to Headship.

* “If a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him.”

* “If a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her.”

Custom of the world at that time?

But Paul destroyed this so-called world’s custom argument when he concluded in writing...

Today there are still all sorts of different customs with some women who:

* Wear a head covering all the time,

* Cover their whole head, face, and body with only hands showing.

* Never wear anything on their head, and some, not wear much anywhere else.

But NONE of these customs are what this Scripture teaches. These verses clearly teach...

Husband Directive 10: Be Filled With The Spirit!

Today many Christians think about being "filled with the Spirit" in reference to speaking in “tongues.” However, “being filled with the Spirit” to speak in “tongues” was only referenced once in all the NT (Acts 2). And there it was for the specific purpose of evangelizing Jews from foreign countries by hearing all the local Believers supernaturally speaking all there foreign languages without ever having learned them.

But here in Ephesians 5 is the only place in all the NT where it tells us - “be filled with the Spirit.” And here there are two major differences...

How do we practically get filled with the Spirit?

Did you know that most all of the NT churches that the Apostle Paul wrote to he gave specific instruction for church discipline?

“Division” is the ONLY sin that Jesus prayed against for all Believers today...

It is very interesting to note that in every place where church discipline is referenced in the New Testament, God never gives this instruction for spiritual leaders but for all Believers to obey.

In both the Old and New Testament, judgments or church disciplines were not written to the leaders but to all God’s people. God always judges anyone and everyone who does not judge sin...

Flattery is Satan’s “net” to pull you toward themselves and away from others, a "flattering net" for dividing.

“There is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.” (1 Corinthians 11:3)

This is God’s creation headship order for here on earth since the beginning of time. It is not just for married persons but for all males and females. Therefore, since this is of God - our flesh, our culture and Satan will rebel against it!

But all the implications of this are staggering...

Either the church is going to effect the world or the world is going to effect the church.

Let me summarize Romans 13:

* Verses 1-2: Be subject to God’s governing authorities.

* Verses 3-5: God’s governing authorities praise those who do good and punish those who do evil.

* Verses 6-7: Pay taxes, customs, respect and honor to God’s governing authorities.

* Verses 8-10: Proclaims to fulfill God’s Law.

Any Christians who think Romans 13 is about submitting to secular government has defied the most important rule for scripture interpretation - DON’T TAKE SCRIPTURE OUT OF CONTEXT...
