On Mother’s Day we are going to examine the story of Ruth. This biblical account gives us a snapshot of an ordinary life that is infused with hope. What happens is not necessarily supernatural, miraculous, or out-of-the-box, but in the course of common life we see God is at work, and his ultimate aim is to bless us even when we’re experiencing difficult times.

In Revelation, chapter 3, Jesus gives us a picture of a church that was once alive, but then died. What are some of the things that cause a church to be vibrant in one decade, then dead in the next? How can you keep a growing passion toward the things of God? Join us as we let Jesus give us the answers.

Most of the churches that Jesus addressed in Revelation, chapters 2 and 3, had a lot of good points, but they also had at least one area that threatened to undo them. For the church at Thyatira, the problem was compromise. A picture emerges of what happens when a church tolerates sin and what happens when Jesus remains your closest friend with uninterrupted fellowship.

In Revelation, chapters 2 and 3, Christ speaks directly to His church and warns of some of the dangers we will face. The third church, known as Pergamos, tried to maintain Christian credibility and, at the same time, close association with the world. They became a picture of what happens to the church, or to any Christian, when they try to do both things. The challenge before us is to learn how to be all in for God.

On April 10th we will be looking at Smyrna. This is a unique letter among the seven. Christ had nothing against this church as he had in the other letters. Instead, He identifies with how bad it has been and lets them know it will get worse. Whoa! Wait! Is there any Good News here? Stay tuned to discover.
