The current thought is that as long as you are sincere in what you believe, you will arrive in heaven some day. What does God say say about this subject? This is the most crucial of all, because it’s possible to think you are going the right direction only to discover that you’ve reached the wrong destination.

Have you ever been in a situation where somebody asks you why something is wrong but you couldn’t give them an answer based on the bible? That is one of the reasons why we have been discussing some of the current beliefs in our society that are colliding head-on with biblical teaching.

Instead of talking about roses or chocolates on Valentine’s Day, we are going to continue our series on colliding cultures by looking at what the bible says about alcohol. Is it permissible for a Christian to have a glass of wine with a meal or to have a beer every now and then? Once again we will see what God says compared to what society says.

We are familiar with the term “vice” as in “vise grip.” We know the power of destructive habits; now let us see that God has the remedy! We will discover it together in Philippians 3:12-17.

We live in a world where there is a lot of confusion, even among Christians, over the topic of abortion. It’s my hope that we can come to grips with what the Bible teaches about this very important subject. Is it about a woman’s right to choose or is it about the sanctity of human life?

As we continue our series on colliding cultures--God's thoughts vs. societies thoughts, we are going to look at what God says in His word about homosexuality. Some Christians respond to this issue by pounding on the truth without love, and others pound on love without truth. Our goal is to learn what the Bible means when it says, "speak the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15).

There are a lot of philosophies and thoughts floating around our society. As a follower of Jesus Christ, how do I decide what I believe? Do I rely on my own understanding of these issues or do I rely on what God has said in His Word—the Bible? Specifically, what does God have to say about pornography, homosexuality, and abortion? When we allow God’s Word to change the way that we think, it will transform the way that we live.

Throughout the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon has talked to his listeners about the meaning of life. The conclusion he came to is that everything under the sun is futile, meaningless, and empty without God. But now, in the final message, he gives us insights that are full of hope and challenge us to live life to the full.

Is it possible to live our entire lives from the wrong perspective? Believing that we are right when we are wrong? Thinking we are hitting the target when we are missing the mark by miles? Solomon, in Ecclesiastes, chapter ten, will show us how to avoid the way of folly and embrace the way of wisdom.
