Headlines and QB talk.

- The 49ers signed Brock Purdy to a long-term contract valued at $53 million a year and apparently no other teams called or expressed interest in trying to get Purdy.

- The Steelers still don’t have a QB and mini camp is just about 3 weeks away. Aaron Rodgers needs to make a decision soon; will he head to Pittsburgh?

The Mariners win in Chicago and that’s 4 wins in a row and 4 games in a row where the pitching staff has only given up 1 run. An ERA of 1? Yeah, we’ll take it.

:30- Mariners Morning After- pitching was the story once again, as Luis Castillo went 7 scoreless.

The offense was quiet with just 1 run over 7 innings and then a Julio Grand Slam shut the door on the White Sox in the 8th.

:45- Is USC just trying to ruin everything good? They helped blow up the Pac-12 and now they want to blow up the Notre Dame rivalry.

MIKE BENTON (Kraken Audio Network) joins the show now that the Frozen 4 is set in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Is he surprised by these four teams and who could take it all?

What will it take for the Kraken to get back to the playoffs?

The Kraken coaching search is still on, is the coach the final piece to make this thing go or is there more that needs to be done?

The Mariners came off a tough homestand and unexpectedly swept the Padres over the weekend.

It’s still early, but it was the most complete series we have seen from this team and for them to do it when they are dealing with some major injuries made it even more unexpected.

Yes, the injuries have been concerning, but things are looking up.

:30- The WNBA opened their season this weekend and the Angel Reese/Caitlin Clark rivalry is really being played up, but who’s making it such a big deal?

:45- It’s time to hand out some hardware and some praise!

The Seahawks open and close the season with San Francisco, so we turn to JENIIFER LEE CHAN (NBCS 49ers) to give us her thoughts on the 49ers as the team to beat in the NFC West in 2025 and Brock Purdy’s new contract.

:45- The NBA Conference finals are set and while it may not be the teams Adam Silver wanted to see, we’ve got some pretty interesting storylines and matchups in both the East and West.

The Mariners sweep in San Diego and that’s just baseball.

This is why we say it’s early and it has nothing to do with wins and losses, it has to do with the fact that it’s a very long season and getting swept or sweeping a team from one weekend to the next is the way it goes sometimes.

Having said that though, these last 3 games were probably the most complete, best all-around games we have seen from this team in a long time.

The starting pitching delivered, the bullpen stepped up and the offense came through against the Padres.

:30- Mariners Morning After- Bryan Woo went 7 innings and continues to impress, despite one small hiccup in the 1st against the first batter he faced. Tatis went yard to give the Padres an early 1-0 lead, but that was it, the Padres couldn’t score and the Mariners bats were very active.

:45- Scottie Scheffler took home the Wanamaker trophy for his 3rd major win of his career after a dominant Saturday and an even round on Sunday to hang on to his lead when others came charging but ultimately fell flat.

- R is for Julio Rodriguez- Julio will reunite with his buddy Tatis and sometimes the fun distracts and gets Julio in trouble. We need him laser-focused.

- S is for sandwich- it’s a series sandwich with 3 in SD, the last 4 in Houston and the White Sox right there in the middle.
