Ministry Update

On this week's ministry update, I don’t have much to share. Everything is moving as planned and progressing nicely. I'm recording this update the night before our next gathering in Atlanta.

Every third Saturday, we gather in Atlanta for our CFE monthly gatherings. These gatherings are designed not just for those who live in Atlanta but for anyone worldwide who is part of CFE.

Tomorrow’s message—or today, depending on when you listen to this update—will focus on what I got wrong in marriage and the lessons God showed me on how to fix it.

This message won’t just be from me. My wife will be sharing alongside me, and a few other couples will also share their experiences. My goal for these gatherings, particularly regarding the message, is to keep them conversational, engaging, and interactive. I want others to share insights and actively participate in teaching during this segment.

Daily Study: The body of Christ has more of a love problem, than a doctrinal problem. Many believers are spending more time trying to correct each other, than they are loving each other. A sign of a believer is not correct doctrine, but the love they have for another believer.

Daily Study: There is an ongoing debate among believers about whether we should follow the Law from the Old Covenant or not, since we are now under Grace. After studying the Scriptures, I am confident in saying that as New Testament believers, we are under Grace, not the Law. But does this mean we can do whatever we want? Certainly not. Listen to today's study to learn how Grace, not the Law, compels us to do what is right.

Open Forum: Pastor Amos led a discussion on his teaching style, emphasizing the importance of learning and sharing, while Jamie corrected a Bible misinterpretation from the last Open Forum. The conversation shifted to balancing business and family life, with Monique sharing her struggles as a single mom entrepreneur and Anna reflecting on limiting business activities to specific times during the day. Pastor Amos emphasized contextual Bible reading, particularly regarding women’s roles in the church and the Sabbath’s purpose as a day of rest. Stephanie opened up about job struggles, feeling drained and unsupported, while the group encouraged her to trust God and maintain her spiritual foundation. The meeting concluded with Pastor Amos praying for strength, anointing, and the fulfillment of their aspirations for 2025.

Daily Study: As entrepreneurs who believe in Jesus Christ, we are not going to work only with Christians. This applies whether you own a business or work for someone else. Most of us will find ourselves working in or around sinful organizations. However, while you are there, you will either influence the culture or conform to it. In today’s study, we examine this issue using Lot’s time in Sodom and Gomorrah as a case study.

Daily Study: A question I get a lot is “Are believers required to tithe?” It is a simple question, but this question has caused church splits and furious debates. Some say yes and others say no. Daily Study: In many action movies, the villain is the CEO of some large company that’s trying to take over the world or do harm to make more profits. This is the case because society has bought into the myth that business is bad, so business is vilified. Even many in the church see pursuing business ventures as ungodly. However, what does the Bible say about business? In today’s study, we are examining the scriptures to determine if doing business is Biblical.

Sunday Service: Confusion about giving arises from mixing Old and New Covenant principles. In the Old Covenant, giving was mandatory, with specific rules and a quid pro quo system—blessings followed giving. In the New Covenant, we are blessed through Christ, and giving is an act of love, not obligation. Both covenants distinguish between supporting ministers and helping those in need. Giving under the New Covenant activates the law of seedtime and harvest, where God increases what we have to meet our needs and enable further generosity. In the early church, giving was direct—ministers were supported by those they served, and the church did not act as a financial middleman to those in need. Today’s focus on giving to "the church" creates confusion, which could be reduced by returning to the early church model.
