As a control freak, I have grown accustom to living a life filled with frustration and anxiety when life doesn't go as planned. Control freaks often make idols of efficiency and comfort, however, these oftentimes are not God's focus when working our His purpose. Let's unpack.

In John 17, Jesus prayed to the Father, requesting He help all Christians to be one as They are one. The Church is meant to be united in love and truth, and be a testament of the gospel to the world. The Christian walk is not easy. It is filled with spiritual warfare, trials and tribulations, and sacrifices. If you are anything like me, you've sometimes found yourself growing envious of unbelievers who don't deal with the convictions and sacrifices you deal with on a daily basis. I see that a lot of us can get caught up trying to make ourselves holy for God's approval. Many of us are tortured by the pressure of trying to sanctify ourselves, as if we ever had the power to. One thing we all must acknowledge is that if we could purify ourselves, we wouldn't need a Savior.
