Headlines: The Reds lose to the athletics 5-4.  The offense didnt wake up until it was too late.  The bullpen did its job until they didnt.  Jakob junis pitched 4 innings of perfect baseball.  He became the 6th reds pitcher since 1979 to record a hitless start of at least 4 innings .  He joins hunter greene (twice), wade miley, tyler mahle, homer bailey twice, and tom browning.  

  • Junis and Buck farmer combined for the longest combined no hitter (4.1) its the longest combined perfect bid since 1990 when jack armstrong, scott scudder, norm charlton and rick mahler did it.  
  • The reds sit 9 games back of the final wild card spot
  • The top 6 members of the lineup all got hits, including tyler stephenson having 3 of them.  He is on an 11 game hitting streak and is hitting 300 for the last month of play.  
  • Rece hinds has been called up and nick lodolo and stuart fairchild are all on the IL
  • The athletics hit 3 home runs.  
  • They are back at it tonight where fernando cruz is opening.  Osvaldo bido is pitching for the A’s.  he has a 3.24 era and a whip of 1.14

  • Giants get a 5-4 win over the brewers .  yastrezemski’s home run in the 7th sparked the comeback 
  • Padres defeat the cardinals 7-5 as they have now won 3 in a row
  • Braves beat the twins yet again 8-6. Their 4 run 10th inning did the trick.  
  • Nationals defeat the yankees 4-2 as the washington rookies get 5 hits and 2 home runs on gerrit cole
  • The royals take another game from the guardians as they win 6-1 and are now tied for the lead in the division 
  • Tigers beat the angels as they are now over 500.  
  • Cubs score 9 more on the pirates.  Theyve now scored 27 runs in 2 games against pittsburgh. The reds scored 18 in four games and lost the series.
