On Sunday morning April 15th, 2018 the family of Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC player Kay Banjo lost everything in a devastating house fire! Thankfully no lives were lost and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Banjo Family also includes:

· Abisola Banjo (Mother)
· Taiwo (Tai) Banjo
· Olamide Banjo (current student at Largo High School)
We are asking all family and friends to donate to this worthy cause. Any and all support will be greatly appreciated as the family tries to rebuild their home and lives. As a community, we can make a huge difference in the lives of this family when they need us the most.

What a great day Monday was for soccer in the city of Cincinnati! The CST crew was LIVE from Buffalo Wings and Rings in Oakley this week with guests Jimmy McLaughlin and Jeff Berding! Enjoy the show!

Bryan, Bill, Brad, and Yosief recapped Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Bethlehem Steel FC. Fans finally got their wish and saw Nazmi Albadawi open his FC Cincinnati account with the match-tying goal.

FC Cincinnati winger Jimmy McLaughlin stopped by Buffalo Wings and Rings to chat with the CST crew. It was great catching up with him in person and getting the chance to get an inside look at the squad. Plus we find out about the “fine wheel”.

Fresh off his busy day at City Hall, FC Cincinnati President Jeff Berding stopped by to discuss the new stadium, it’s location, the process and what’s next towards MLS. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Jeff in a better mood. It was fantastic to hear.

Another week, another clean sheet for FC Cincinnati as they blanked Indy Eleven 1-0 Saturday night. FC Cincinnati’s defense continues to shine and just in time as Louisville is coming to town. Get downloading!

This week’s episode captain is Dan Village! Dan, thank you so much for your support and generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

We start the show off this week by recapping the win over Indy Eleven. There’s been quite a bit of debate on social media about how the team is currently performing. It’s hard to argue with results. It’s the first time in franchise history that FC Cincinnati has won their first two games of a season, let alone not concede a goal in the process. Should Manu Ledesma feature more centrally rather than out wide? Should Richie Ryan be given more time on the ball rather than being bypassed for long balls to the forward and wingers? It makes for a fun debate, but again, FC Cincinnati already has 6 points away from home this year. They only mustered up 12 points all of 2017. I’d say that’s an improvement.

A big reason why FC Cincinnati held another clean sheet on Saturday night was due to the massive double save Evan Newton had in the match after a penalty kick was incorrectly awarded to Indy’s Jack McInerney. Newton didn’t let it bother him. He stepped up and saved the ensuing PK as well as the quick rebound on the miss from Ben Speas. Despite his fiery competitiveness on the pitch, Newton’s recently shown a softer compassionate side off the pitch as well. Listen in to this week’s episode to find out how Evan’s gotten involved in this community.

Make sure you download this week’s March to Matchday to get the skinny on this weekend’s opponent Louisville City FC!

Sure bye weeks are great for the players who need a break, but to have a bye week one week after the season opener is such a tease. Thankfully the FC Cincinnati faithful have a short trek up I-74 this week to watch the Orange and Blue take on Indy Eleven. Enjoy this week’s show. Get downloading!

We started off this week’s show by recapping this past weekend’s win over the Columbus Crew reserves. I certainly can’t blame Alan Koch for wanting to keep his guys fresh. All that build up to the season opener and then to have to sit around for the weekend. The club’s friendly with the Dayton Flyers was snowed out over the weekend, so it was good to hear that FC Cincinnati got some minutes over the weekend.

We learned today about Cincinnati’s bid to be a host city for the United big in 2026. It’s interesting to see where Cincinnati stacks up against the other cities bidding for the World Cup in 2026. To learn more check out Bryan’s story here.

We wrapped up the show by playing the Wikipedia game again.

Yes! FC Cincinnati opens the season for the first time in their history with a win! Speaking of history, they announced the hiring of their first Technical Director as well this week. Get downloading!

This week’s episode captain is Jesse King! Jesse, thank you so much for your support and generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

We started off this week’s show by recapping last week’s 1-0 win over the Charleston Battery. For the 3rd straight year, FC Cincinnati opened the year in South Carolina and the 3rd time is the charm. After losing their first two tries, FC Cincinnati finally started a USL campaign with a win, largely thanks to left-back Blake Smith who scored the only goal of the match. Evan Newton also had 3 massive saves to keep the Battery scoreless. It wasn’t pretty, but 3 points on the road at a place they haven’t won is a good first step to the 2018 campaign.

We welcome new FC Cincinnati Technical Director, Luke Sassano, to the show this week. Sassano has joined FC Cincinnati after spending a few years with the New York Cosmos. I speak for a few of us here at CST, we came away very impressed with the answers Luke gave us on the podcast. He’s got big plans for this club and we’re really looking forward to see the direction he’ll take FC Cincinnati. To learn more about Sassano, read about him here.

It wouldn’t be an episode of CST without discussing MLS expansion and stadium locations. Though, FC Cincinnati has made life on us easier by eliminating one of the 3 sites.

We wrapped the show this week by filling you in on the fun things we’ve got upcoming here at CST, particularly the 3rd Annual Cincinnati Soccer Talk Footgolf Classic!
