We are getting ever so close to Episode 100 here on CST, but we couldn’t have asked for a better guest for Episode 99. FC Cincinnati President and GM Jeff Berding visited the show this week! Get downloading!

This week’s episode captain is Paul Hoetker! Paul, thank you so much for your support and generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

We start the show off by briefly discussing where our minds are at with all the expansion news and rumors that continue to swirl around FC Cincinnati. Brad explained it best, it’s like being on a roller coaster at Kings Island.

Jeff Berding has been on the show quite a bit. In fact, in our 99 episodes of CST, he’s easily been the most frequent guest on our show. Jeff wanted to relay a message this week to fans of FC Cincinnati. Be patient. Jeff was generous with his time with us this week and spent nearly 40 minutes with us talking about the MLS Expansion process and the upcoming preparation for the 2018 USL season.

We ended the show this week with the news that FC Cincinnati signed a new goalkeeper and that FCC may have gained a new rival in Indy XI who are joining the USL from NASL in 2018.

Who needs MLS news when FC Cincinnati keeps on announcing more and more players that are joining the Orange and Blue! We’re thrilled to be joined this week by Mark Village, FC Cincinnati’s newest goalkeeper. Get downloading!

This week’s episode captain is Mike Bowman! Mike, thank you so much for your support and generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

We start the show off by discussing the New Year and you crazies who tweeted us minutes after the calendar flipped to 2018 wanting MLS updates. Patience, patience, patience.

Mark Village, one of FC Cincinnati’s new goalkeepers for 2018, joined us on the show this week. Mark spent 2017 in the Vancouver Whitecaps 2 organization. Mark filled us in on the move from Canada to Cincinnati. He’s really excited to be working with new goalkeeper coach Jack Stern as well. He and his wife have already moved here to the Queen City and have spent a few days taking in the town. Mark filled us in on which team he’s a supporter of and which goalkeepers he watches and admires around the world. Even though he’s only been in town for a few days, his wife is very excited about trying some Skyline Chili.

If you missed today’s news, FC Cincinnati signed one of the biggest names in American soccer. Emannuel Ledesma has signed with FC Cincinnati after spending last season with the New York Cosmos. Ledesma is a HUGE signing, one we can not wait to see on the field this summer in Orange and Blue. Bryan Weigel had a nice write-up today that you should check out. –Read Here–

We also discussed Emery Welshman’s arrival from Puerto Rico FC in NASL. –Read Here–

Though we don’t know anything regarding MLS, Bryan offered up his prediction on when the MLS announcement may be. Our best-educated guess is sometime next week. We hope.

Now that everyone is back from their mini Christmas break, we got back into the studio to talk FC Cincinnati! We look back at 2017 in this final episode of the year. Get downloading folks!

This week’s episode captain is Matt Imholt! Matt, thank you so much for your support and generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

We start the show off by discussing our Christmases and some of the FC Cincinnati related items Boston and Bill got for Christmas. Unfortunately, I didn’t get anything. Here’s a big hint for next year Seuberling family. They’re probably not reading this anyway……

We took a trip down the 2017 memory lane and looked back on what a year it was for FC Cincinnati. We started with the big news early on about the head coaching change. Bitegate. The US Open Cup run. The road trips to Pittsburgh, St Louis, Charleston, Miami, and more. The slaying of MLS giants Chicago and Columbus at Nippert Stadium. Loisville, Streamergate, the Coney Phone, and more.

This is pretty cool. Cincinnati Soccer Talk was awarded the 2017 USL Podcast of the Year according to the subreddit r/USLPRO. Thanks to everyone who voted for us!

Keep your fingers crossed for an MLS Expansion announcement soon FC Cincinnati fans!

We were hoping that tonight would be the night we’d be celebrating FC Cincinnati’s entrance into Major League Soccer. That’s ok. We got the next best thing. SiriusXM FC’s Jason Davis, the host of The United States of Soccer, joins us this week to talk about FC Cincinnati’s MLS chances. Get downloading folks!

This week’s episode captain is Beverly Spargur! Beverly, thank you so much for your support and generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

We’re joined right away at the top of the show with Jason Davis, The Soccer Eagle. You may recognize Jason as one of the best, if not THE best soccer radio hosts in the country. Jason got his start talking about soccer years ago on podcasts like The Best Soccer Show and Soccer Morning. Jason spent a good portion of this week’s show with us discussing Major League’s Soccer expansion process, the state of US soccer as a whole, and of course FC Cincinnati’s expansion hopes. We even put him on the spot about coming to Cincinnati this summer to catch an FC Cincinnati match!

FC Cincinnati is on the verge of adding a huge piece to the Orange and Blue puzzle that is the 2017 offseason. Nazmi Albadawi should be joining from North Carolina FC we reported last week. Read more here.

We wrapped up this week’s show talking about some of the roster movement around USL.

Keep your fingers crossed for an MLS Expansion announcement soon FC Cincinnati fans!

This week we actually talked about an actual MLS match for once, the MLS Cup Final. It was an awesome game to watch. Toronto absolutely bossed the rematch with Seattle. They should have won 5 or 6-0 with the number of shots they had in the first half. Congrats to Cincy’s own Nick Hagglund for winning the MLS Cup with Toronto. He got some minutes as well as a late substitution for Toronto in the end.

We were joined by the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Pat Brennan who does a fantastic job covering FC Cincinnati. Pat was one of the few reporters who was in New York City last week for the MLS Expansion pitches that Detroit, Sacramento, Nashville and Cincinnati unveiled. Pat fills us in on everything that went down as well as his take on MLS Commissioner Don Garber’s comments during the MLS State of the Union press conference Friday.

FC Cincinnati announced another player signing, this time it was forward Tommy Heinemann from the San Franciso Deltas. The guys weighed in on the signing, yes we’re very excited. You can read more about him here.

The CST crew got together and enjoyed their first ever Holiday Party. It was nothing like the movie Office Christmas Party but we still had a blast despite being inundated with thousands of Santa’s at SantaCon.

On this week’s episode, we discuss the news that FC Cincinnati’s Mitch Hildebrandt and Austin Berry will no longer be suiting up for the Orange and Blue. Plus we’re joined by new goalkeeper coach, Jack Stern. Get downloading!

This week’s episode captain is Josh Staley! Josh, thank you so much for your support and generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

FC Cincinnati announced last week that they have brought on another full-time coach in Jack Stern. Jack’s had a wealth of experience coaching around the world. He comes to Cincinnati after a stint in Montreal with MLS side Montreal Impact for the past 4 seasons. He’s also got English Premier League experience as well where he coaches at West Bromwich Albion. Stern is excited about the opportunity that lies ahead of him in the Queen City and knows he’s got two really good goalkeepers to fill the massive gloves of Mitch Hildebrandt.

Speaking of Mitch, yes, he’s left the Queen City and has signed with Atlanta United FC. Talk about going from electric atmosphere to another. It’s sad to see Mitch go. He’ll be missed. He may not have been the best goalkeeper in the world, but he was solid USL goalkeeper who was the face of the franchise in it’s two short years. We’ll miss you, Mitch. Best of luck in Atlanta!

Going into 2018, FC Cincinnati will have an entirely new backline and goalkeeper now that Austin Berry has decided to retire from playing soccer. He’ll be joining the FC Cincinnati coaching staff in 2018. Berry will be responsible for establishing schedules and tailoring programs for the FCC players to enhance and maintain peak performance. Good luck in your new role, Austin

Bryan spent a few moments filling us in on the newest FC Cincinnati signings. You won’t want to miss this. I swear Weigel is like a freaking encyclopedia. I don’t know how he knows about all of these guys but somehow he does.

Yesterday’s City Council meeting was the main topic of our podcast this week. We hear from fans of FC Cincinnati from all over this city who discussed their range of emotions during yesterday’s proceedings. In case you missed it, here’s a recap: http://cincinnatisoccertalk.com/2017/11/27/fc-cincinnati-mls-stadium-infrastructure-plan-sails-committee

Kevin called in to show support for Jeff Berding. Kevin feels like Jeff is getting a bad rap for what is perceived as his previous Hamilton County stadium deals.

We also briefly spent a few moments discussing the newest members of FC Cincinnati that were announced last week, particularly Tyler Gibson who is joining FC Cincinnati from NASL Champions San Francisco Deltas.
