It's been awhile, but The World's GAM is back with all the MLS News that's fit to talk about in about an hour! International Duty calls for the league this weekend but matches are still happening and storylines are still being written. Harry Kane as a kicker, overreacting to the weekend that was in MLS, and getting you set up to watch matches this weekend. It's all here, just in the nick of time.

It was a very full week of MLS news with an American Cashfer record, Championship teams trying to build an MLS squad, and Leagues Cup showing just how far MLS has to go. Jay from MLS Reacts stops by to talk some of the biggest stories in MLS, his new podcast, and which fanbase is happiest right now. Then in Part Three it's What to Watch This Weekend with some USDA Certified Top Picks.

All of the discussion in and around MLS this week has been about the floated new playoff format MLS is kicking around for 2027/28. Are you ready for a 20 team playoff field that puts your team on the Aussie Rules Ladder!? The confusing format might actually be a huge win for the league. In other news GMs are getting poached and previously banned GMs are getting new jobs. Then it's what to watch this weekend with a pick at the top of the table, and the very, very bottom.

Now that Leagues One's Phase One is in the books it's time to look back at the tournament. The format, the timing, the calendar, the dead-rubber matches, and the drama. How much should fans be caring about this tournament? Also, what changes, if any, need to be in place for next year's version, if there is a version next year. Then in Part Two it's a look ahead to the weekend's matches in MLS.

On this Episode of The World's GAM, it's full of overreactions to the weekend's results! Why isn't anyone talking about Houston and should we be more worried about Vancouver? MLS is looking into expanding the roster rules and making them easier, or harder, to understand? What would it look like? Then it's a yearly tradition: why do we have an All-Star game? And finally a conversation with Zach Blandford who was Mic'd Up for Hell is Real. The weird online backlash, fee-fees, and more. Then finally it's a look at the full weekend slate of matches and picking out a few of our top picks.

Following the 2026 Men's World Cup, MLS is back and ready to take it from here, or something. Did MLS miss its chance to take advantage of the World Cup on home soil or is it ready to bring in a whole new cohort of fans? What should MLS teams be doing right now? Also a bunch of stories about players coming and going including some big names and league all-stars. Then it's a full Saturday of MLS action, with a few matches you want to be sure you're seated for.

Right before hitting record the news broke that Flo Balogun is going to be available for the USMNT's clash against Belgium. Just don't worry too much about how it happened... Monday night is set to be the biggest match in US Soccer history with the eyes of the entire country on the Red White and Blue as they seek revenge for 2014 (and also for March 2026).
Elsewhere, the World Cup has been a blast as Morocco takes the Dutch Blue-Blood card, Cape Verde puts on a performance for the ages, and the pathway clearing for Messi's last shot at a World Cup.

It has been an absolute amazing week as a soccer fan with matches running all day, every day and all of them being pretty good? Maybe the expanded tournament was a good idea after all? Best matches so far, where the groups stand after one match each, and surprising teams so far. Part Two is all about the USMNT and their match vs Australia, and what it would mean to the US to defeat all three group stage opponents. Then a look ahead to this weekend with the idea of which games do you think you could get a soccer-hater to watch and convert them.

With the World Cup finally here, it's time to finally, finally, be the first soccer podcast to take a look at the United States Men's National Team, offer thoughts, feelings, and opinions, and share our undying love for Weston McKennie. Then in Part Two it's a look ahead to the tournament itself, giving predictions for all of the groups, semi-finals, and winners.
