  • CineKuest Video Ep. 39: Demolition Man
Tonight we would like to invite you all to a five-course meal…at Taco Bell. The Franchise Wars declared a winner is them in this classic Stallone stomp-fest. John Spartan is a cop who kicks names and takes ass (Huxley-ism). Unfortunately, he’s outsmarted by Simon Phoenix, a true agent of murderous, goofy chaos–and ends up being sent to prison and put into suspended animation for his efforts. ‘Cause y’know…that’s a thing they did in the ‘90s. Years later, he’s thawed to discover that Phoenix was also put on ice-but set free in the future to kill a guy named…Edgar…Friendly. No, really. He wakes to find his world has gone to shit, and then it got a healthy dose…of milquetoast. Surrounded by joy-joy be-well sissies, Spartan must deal with an urge to knit, evil Mr. Rogers, and those three fuckin’ seashells. All of this…and no smokes–or salt, caffeine, bad language, burgers, beers–hurray for the future! Join Daniel, Roland, and Rey as we marvel at the society of 2032 in all its wimpy cringe-glory.

  • CineKuest Video Ep 38: Shaun of the Dead (Cornetto Trilogy pt 1)
Beginning the next Cinekuest “Apocalypse Trilogy” we bring you Shaun of the Dead. With this first “Cornetto-verse” pick we bring you the dark comedic genius of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, arguably the funniest duo in existence. They bring plenty of feels too though when Shaun’s entire world as he knows it comes crashing down to eat his ass. In this context, eating ass = not good. Talkin’ about those hard undead Z-words, folks, comin’ to take a bite outta all life as we know it. And the safest place to go when dead shit hits the fan? A bar, BABY! If the world was gonna get fucked, why not get trashed while you’re at it? Can’t get any worse…could it? Join Daniel, Rey, and Roland as we kick off this next round of Cinekuest quarantine chronicles.

  • CineKuest Video Ep. 37: In the Mouth of Madness (Apocalypse Trilogy Part 3)
In this episode of Cinekust, we bring you to the final movie in the “Apocalypse Trilogy” with In the Mouth of Madness, John Carpenter’s most overt incorporation of Lovecraftian themes in his films to date. Ultra bad-fuckin-ass insurance investigator, John Trent, has no time for hack horror writers-get him a tape if you could? He is completely unaware of the viral sensation that is Baron Wolfgang von Wolfhausen (as Sutter Cane), an author who has a god-process complex inflicted (or invited?) upon him by an “evil older than mankind and wider than the universe”. With great lines like, “Your books SUCK!”, to “Oh, no, not The Carpenters…” and some “Great, uh… tell him I say hi.”, we know you’ll be interested. Check this out with us. Join Rey, Roland, and Daniel on another episode of Cinekuest Video.

  • CineKuest Video Ep. 36: The Last Dragon
Debarge it downtime, folks. If none of you have seen it, then you’ve got time this self-quarantining/social distancing eve to check The Last Dragon with us. The only guy that stands between Sho ‘Nuff, the Shogun of Harlem, and total supremacy is the (eats popcorn using chopsticks with a straight face) serious, the saucy (“Hothead, needs cool water”), Leeroy Greene. “Bruce” Leeroy is a man on a personal quest to attain The Glow, mighty power of spiritual Kung fury oneness. The son of a pizzeria owner, this martial arts master must navigate murderous kung-fu street gangs hell-bent on designating his ass for dismemberment, psychopathic arcade owners with piranha tanks, an asshole little brother (Ritchie has delusions of grandeur wet dreams-we hates him, but he does know how to pop-and-lock out of being tied up), all while helping his “friend” learn some “moves”. Did we mention the soundtrack is badasscool? Synthfunkbass twangage tracks were at their best in the 80s. Will Bruce Leeroy successfully keep the power of The Glow out of the hands of evil? Listen in with Daniel, Rey, and Roland, as we ask important questions like, “Why didn’t Ritchie die?” or “He shoulda cracked his head wide open.” or the classic, “Fuck Ritchie and his leather pants.” (real questions probably).

  • CineKuest Video Ep. 35: Prince of Darkness (Apocalypse Trilogy Part 2)
Here we go for round 2 of JC’s “Apocalypse Trilogy” with Prince of Darkness. Listen in as we connect the dots of the Carpenterverse (mostly the reused actors and music). This crack against the evils of “Space Satan” plays out like a synth-wave music video. Get a bunch of awkward, clueless nerds to “research” an ancient glowing toilet full of alien sploosh. Check! Turn your narrow-minded understanding of two thousand years of religion on its head. Checkyboom! Have a possessed hobo (I mean Alice-Fucking-Cooper) leading a mob of vagrants to ensure the coming of the Outer Space Armageddon. Chiggedy checkered! Did I mention the soundtrack is badass-cool-as-all-fucks? Funny thing is that this is all pretty light on plot. Join Daniel, Rey, Bryce, and Roland as we crack along through our review of this wholesome family-fun (the Sawyer family, that is) romp through the end of the world.

  • CineKuest Video Ep. 34: Big Trouble in Little China
In between our Apocalypse Trilogy anal-yzation we’ve decided to pepper some more of Johnny C’s epic schlockfest classics- enter Big Trouble in Little China. Staring (again) The Hair Himself, Kurt-Of-The-Flowing-Mullet-Russell is Jack “it’s all in the reflexes” Burton, a happy-go-lucky truck driver who wins a couple of grand in a bet and gets pulled into an ancient feud between demons, sorcerers, kung-fu warriors, and a certain bleeding-heart, green-eyed lawyer with a raging justice boner-Gracie…Law. This is some prime cheese territory. Be prepared for cringe, albeit vintage cringe, which is really more amusing in its silliness than stomach-turning. Grandpappy Cryptkeeper, David Lo Pan, is an ancient pervo wizard who just wants to find love from an emerald-eyed Asian thot to restore (no, really) his grope feels. Jack must help his friend Wang rescue his fiance’ from a fate grosser than death-being a snuggle-slave to a 7-foot Chinese goth-mime. Join Bryce, Daniel, Rey, and Roland as we remember our childhoods with another edition of the Extended Carpenterverse Series.

  • CineKuest Video Ep. 33: The Thing (Apocalypse Trilogy-Survival 1)
On to the first of the Apocalypse Trilogy, we have the classic horror, John Carpenter’s The Thing. Anyone that grew up with this movie will remember the holy hellshiet crazy crapola going on here. The practical effects of Rob Bottin give even the Hellraiser franchise a run for its gory body horror glory. The guy is an artist with rubber tubes and bbq sauce. As it’s light on the plot you can just sit back and enjoy Bottin’s batshit imagination on display. Kurt Russell’s magnificent hair tries its best to survive an alien invasion at a remote research facility in bumblefuck middle-of-nowhere Antarctica. Will they make it (very maybe) to a sequel? Was there ever (we checked) a parody porn? From the Criterion Crew, we have Idanya and Ron joining us! Listen in as drunk-happy Daniel, Rey, Roland, and Bryan chat about our favorite scenes of classic carnage!

  • CineKuest Video Ep. 32: Only the Strong (ActionKuest Begins)
New year, same antics. We’re back with a new Cinekuest series covering the best/worst action movie villains. For our first entry, we take you to a world where the secret love-child of Steve Buscemi and Dean Cain has finished his tour for Uncle Sam, and so it’s “back to the land of the PX”. What else is there to do in sleepy Miami apart from sponsor an illegal capoeira school program with teens deemed too dangerous for society? Apparently nothing. What could go wrong? I meant, HOW COULD IT GO MORE RIGHT?!? Witness the true birth of break-dance fighting! Join Rey, Roland, and Daniel as they ginga around their discussion of this early 90s classic. Please rate and review us on iTunes and Google Podcasts. • CineKuest Video Ep 31: Ernest Saves Christmas
Here we are with the second of our continued Extended Worrellverse selections. Just in time for the holidays, we have Ernest bringing the Xmas spirit to make us forget our corporate overlords are just milking our yuletide paychecks. The point is-having to buy shiet for people we don’t like for the sake of pretendo-feels sucks. So be selfish instead. Listen in as Ernest ensures the next Santa Claus survives long enough to pass on his eagle powers to the next Kris Kringle down the line. Without Ernest, there would be no Jolly Fat Man to save us from rampaging children at the most wonderful time of the year. Join Rey, Roland, Daniel, and Bryce as we review another classic EW selection.   Please rate and review us on iTunes and Google Podcasts. • CineKuest Video Ep. 30: The Toxic Avenger

Welcome to our final exploration into trash cinemas magnum opus, The Toxic Avenger! Somehow society deemed it worthy to be introduced to children via a cartoon.

Oh Hellz yes. Here we go on the first of the Toxic Avenger movie series. Near and dear to our hearts, this movie is funny as hell and just as dumb (the best). Melvin Ferd is your run-of-the-mill spazoid janitor (not a nerd-too dumb) at a local gym. That is until he finds a lucky conveniently-placed barrel of toxic sludge to catch his fall, turning him into a hero for justice-the mutant superhero Toxie. Marvel in the 80s at its best! Nunchucks! Samurai Swords! Everyone knows Kung Fuck You Up Style! Join Bryce, Rey, and Roland as we review this cult favorite from Troma Entertainment.
