  • 2. Mean Girls: Approval Seeking, Adjustment, and All Things Fetch

In episode 2 of the Cinema Sessions podcast, we dive back into the fetch world of the 2004 high school classic film, Mean Girls. We nostalgically reflect on our mid-2000s selves, the groups of friends we were in during high school, and the myriad of emotions that we feel while watching the film. Core themes of popularity, gossip, loss, change, suburbia, authenticity, dishonesty, and the ways we are perceived by others are explored. Due to some technical difficulties, this episode had to be re-recorded, leading to some zany and obscure moments. We highly recommend listening to this on a Wednesday while wearing pink.

  • 10. The Recovery Road to Leadership

One of the themes of the the Behind The Image Leadership podcast has been the importance of our origin story. Sometimes our origin story is shaped by something that's happened to us. But other times, it's a result of a personal struggle or a battle with addiction. And the same tools that help someone find sobriety can then be incredibly powerful in leading individuals, teams, or organizations.

On today's episode I have a conversation with Kate Buckner. She's a long time friend, a vocational pastor, and someone who's leadership approach has been shaped by her past experience with addiction and recovery. She shares very openly about her journey of healing and transformation. Her authenticity and honesty is refreshing, as she talks very candidly about what she's learned and how she's continuing to learn and grow as a leader.
