Reviewed: Cocaine Bear
TRIGGER WARNING: This week we discuss drug use in a light-hearted way (if the title didn’t give that away) if that’s a trigger for you please skip this episode.
This week the lads cut up some lines of wisdom about the new horror comedy, Cocaine Bear!
They also take a nose dive into their Top 5 Cocaine Movies, like ya do.
Put the earbuds in and get ready for some serious stimulation!
Reviewed: Ant-Man & The Wasp Quantumania
This week, the guys have a small problem.
Matt K. was turning some podcast dials, only to inadvertently open a portal to the Quantum Realm that sucked in the entire podcast. Ever the intrepid explorers of cinema the guys decide to take the opportunity to review Ant-Man & The Wasp Quantumania, and chose their Top 5 Shrinking Movies or Scenes. It’s a tiny titan of a podcast!
Luckily for Matt and Ry, filmmaker John Mossman was in the Quantum Realm as well, promoting his new film Good Guy with a Gun.
John Mossman has directed, written, and produced numerous award-winning films, documentaries, and videos. John is also a film directing instructor at Columbia College and the Second City Film School (formerly known as the Harold Ramis Film School), and teaches acting classes at The Artistic Home. He has served on the boards of IFP – Chicago and The Artistic Home Theater and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received degrees in Film and Theater.
That’s a big resume for the quantum realm!
So sit back and shrink down into a tiny terrific show!
Reviewed: Magic Mike’s Last Dance, Sharper (preview)
This week we reexamine actors who are undersung, under-appreciated, and most of all underrated. We are doing this in honor of Channing Tatum’s return to the Magic Mike series with the third entry Magic Mike’s last dance, and also in honor of our guest Derick McDuff a host of the Underrated Podcast.
Derick is an author, podcaster, and (in his words) a really bad bowler. He is also one of the hosts of the Underrated Podcast where they discuss films that are; underrated, underappreciated, and even ones that have just slipped under the radar and passed most people by. In other words, Derick is the perfect guest for the occasion!
Enjoy!
Reviewed: Knock at the Cabin, You People
Just Matt and Ry this week, leaving the doors unlocked as they consider the Top 5 Home Invasion Movies! Of course, in honor of their review of M. Night Shaymalan’s latest Knock at the Cabin.
In addition a backup review of the Jonah Hill/Eddie Murphy vehicle, You People.
It’s a Jam Packed Jaw as always!

Reviewed: MISSING, The Pale Blue Eye
This week on CinemaJaw we stick the proverbial fork into 2022 because it’s done. At least, until Oscar time. We wrap up this past year in film with a look at the guys, the Best Male Performances of 2022. These leading and supporting men lit up the silver screen in 2022 and left us affected!
David J. Fowlie, a fellow film critic and friend of the show from Keeping-It-Reel.com based in Chicago, has joined us. You can find his reviews, interviews, art, and thoughts on his Twitter account. Matt K., Ry the Movie Guy, and David combine their powers to distill the perfect three lists of Best Male Performances.
As usual, there are a few reviews to boot! The lads tackle the latest in the “All-On-Screens” genre, MISSING. As well as a review of The Pale Blue Eye.

Reviewed: M3GAN
There were so many wonderful performances in 2022, rather than list them all on one episode, we have broken them up into two constituents. This week we take a look at the Best Female Performances of 2022!
Joining us is a guest who sits close to the screen.
Her website bio reads: Cati Glidewell is a Chicago-based freelance film journalist and reviewer. She is also so much more! Cati can usually be found (as her name would suggest) somewhere near the front and center at nearly every press screening she can attend, rocking her namesake blonde hair and red spectacles. We ask Cati about changing her hair, her seating habits as well as her list of Top 5 Female Performances of 2022.
Cati was in attendance with Matt and Ry at the first screening of 2022, killer android horror/comedy M3GAN. Listen to the three critics’ render opinions. Will they agree?
All of that, plus the usual games and segments. TAKE A LISTEN!

Reviewed: Avatar Way of the Water, Babylon
This week on CinemaJaw we continue our review of the year in film 2022, with perhaps the most prolific film critic there is, Mark Dujsik!
Mark watches over 500 movies annually so if there is anyone to check with regarding movies that may have slipped through the cracks, it’s him! Our wrap-up of 2022 continues with our three lists of The Best Scenes of 2022. They may or may not be from our favorite films of the year. Doing scenes gives us an opportunity to shine a light on specific moments in movies that remind us about the magic, the emotion, and the wonder of our favorite art form.
In addition, we have a pair of reviews of Avatar The Way of the Water, and Babylon.
Happy New Year!

Best of 2022!
As the year comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on the movies that have stood out in the past 12 months. Whether you’re a fan of big blockbuster hits or indie darlings, there’s no denying this has been a great year for film.
To compile our list of the best movies of the year, as is our grand tradition, we tapped one of the finest film critics in Chicago, perhaps the world, Brian Tallerico.
Matt K., Ry the Movie Guy, and Brian Tallerico (with help from producer extraordinaire, Fill-Me-In Pfil) take apart 2022 in film, and assemble thee unique Top 10 lists for you!

Review(s): Empire of Light
There is something magical about the movie palace. So many amazing escapes have been had in the isles, the smell of popcorn, the sticky floors. Are you a balcony person, back row, or a front-and-center kinda person? It’s really up to you, but one thing is for sure movie magic is best on the big silver screen.
This week on CinemaJaw we review Sam Mendes’ latest film which takes place in a movie theater, Empire of Light. In addition, Matt K. and Ry The Movie Guy choose their top 5 Movie Theater Scenes from film, hopefully, that’s not too confusing to say.
So sit back and trust the projectionist the show is about to begin!
