Review(s): The Fablemans, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio
This week it’s time for another schoolyard pick… Spielberg style! In honor of our review of his new film, the autobiographical, The Fablemans we take a look at the Spielberg filmography and take turns “building a team” of his hits. With “Fill Me In” Pfil as the judge, whose team will reign supreme, Matt K. or Ry The Movie Guy’s?
In addition to that we have a review of that not-confusing-at-all Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio.
It’s a jam-packed jaw as always!
Review(s): Glass Onion a Knives Out Mystery, Clueless (Retro Review)
This week we travel to the Last Video Store, tucked into a snowy wasteland at the top of a remote mountain range somewhere on planet earth. Of course we’re talking 90’s!
Joining us is the guy who literally wrote the book on the 90’s, Author Matt Pais.
“Jurassic Park.” “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” “That Thing You Do!” “Boy Meets World.” “A League of Their Own.” “Home Alone.” “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.” “Doug.” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” “Newsies.” “American Pie.” “Cool Runnings.” “The Mighty Ducks.” These are not just movies and shows. They are legends, and for so many who grew up in the ‘90s, important markers of our childhood. If you could ask the stars behind these classics anything—with the purpose of taking conversations in different directions than any they’ve had before—what would you say? What would you learn?
In “Talk ‘90s with Me,” each interview begins by exploring the subject’s own ‘90s nostalgia and then poses topics they’ve never discussed. It creates a blend of memories and analysis that’s fresh and unexpected, fun and thought-provoking, silly and profound—offering something new to remember (including exclusive, stump-your-friends trivia!) while honoring the movies and shows you’ll never forget.

Review(s): Wakanda Forever, Enola Holmes 2
The long-awaited sequel to Black Panther is finally here. There is plenty to unpack with the film itself, how it fits into the MCU at large, the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman, passing the torch to Letitia Wright, and the film movement #RecastTChalla. We cover all of that with an exceptional guest!
Emmanuel “Eman” Noisette, is a fellow Chicago Indie Critic, and the person who began the #RecastTChalla movement. You can find his reviews on his website and/or his popular YouTube channel. We definitely recommend you check out his content!
In honor of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s Namor, we dive into our Top 5 Underwater Villains, as well as toss in a bonus review of the new Enola Holmes film.
Enjoy!
