For the 54th episode of the CIO podcast hosted by Healthcare IT Today, we are joined by Natalie Pageler, MD, CMIO at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health to talk about patient information privacy! To kick things off, Pageler shares some of the unique challenges that exist with data privacy for children. Then we shift into the roles healthcare organizations and patients/parents have in keeping information private. Next Pageler offers tips/guidance on how we can all keep our health information private. Then we take a look at various health apps to discuss their role in information privacy. Looking forward, we move on to the areas that healthcare organizations need to work on to ensure patient data privacy. We also take a look at the balance that is needed with privacy needs and data sharing, as both are becoming crucial in this digital age.
