Zach Nash shares part of his testimony, including his encounter with the Holy Spirit and the moment knew he was forgiven. We are urged to personally approach the throne of God with boldness, not timidity, regardless of where we are at in life. Zach emphasizes that intimacy with God is possible because of grace and the blood of Jesus and not because of how well we perform.
Haylee, Annalisa, Yasmin and Derek have a follow up conversation on sacrificial love. Haylee shares on Amy Carmichael, a missionary whose gritty, selfless life shifted culture in India and still convicts us today. Then from Annalisa we learn about Elizabeth Elliot, who returned to share the love of Jesus with the tribe in Ecuador who martyred her husband.
As Brian looks to the life of Jesus, he identifies key traits that Christian leaders should carry. He compares leadership methods that don't work anymore and those that are needed in this hour. Brian urges us to be led by the Spirit and the Word of God in order to live the culture of the Kingdom. This podcast is from Brian's weekly Culture Shift zoom calls.
Zach continues the discussion on having a surrendered heart. We are encouraged to surrender our plans of what we think is best for ourselves in order to get what God knows is best for us.
Brian Brennt explains how surrender is essential for total freedom in our lives. We learn that we have to be willing to surrender our right to convenience, comfort, appearance, and recognition, in order for God to use us in wild ways!
Chase tells the story line of God's presence throughout the Bible. Chase explains that our highest calling is to be in the presence of God and that God wants to destroy any way we might want to hide from His presence. Chase urges us to put on our priestly robes and dwell in God's presence.
Brian Brennt discusses having courage as believers. We learn what it means to tremble in fear of the Lord over fear of man, how to walk out sacrificial love, and how to say yes to the cost of seeking His kingdom with burning zeal. We are challenged to boldly ask the Lord to bend us to His spirit and choose to be joyfully obedient to His desires for our lives.
Brian Brennt speaks on being forerunners for Christ. We learn through Circuit Rider history and examples in scripture how the simple obedience of the few can make a big impact. We are challenged to go places and do things we haven't done before and not let fear stand in our way of being a forerunner.
Derek, Yasmin, Zoe and Steph dive into the heroic lives of two historic women who embody sacrificial love. We learn more about Corrie Ten Boom, whose family put their own lives in danger to harbor Jews during the holocaust and Harriet Tubman, who was a slave that escaped to safety but then went back to lead many others to freedom. Matthew 5:43-48 and 2 Corinthians 5:14-17 summarizes how Biblical love goes beyond emotions or sentiments. It's a love that is gritty and costly, even for the sake of our enemies. We leave this discussion with a call to imitate the lives of these two inspiring women and with an impartation to see change in our generation through the way we love.
As Brian continues his series on dating and marriage, he holds a discussion panel with the Nick and Emily Brennt, Zach and Kayla Nash, and Chase and Lindy Cofer. The couples share how they ended up together, what it looks like to have fun in a marriage and the harmful effects of pornography. This podcast is from Brian's weekly Culture Shift zoom calls.
