  • 2401: Horseback riders (Andy Lyon reimagining)
Horse-drawn wagon reimagined by Andy Lyon.
"I've used a grain sampler in Hollyhock 3 DAW with automation of the speed/gain and pitch/grain controls routed to 4 send effects to process the recording. Altering the pitch and speed of the recording produces some interesting and unusual results, it alters the perception of time whilst retaining the theme of galloping horses. I've then layered orchestration to compliment and contrast, keeping it subtle so the focus is on the processed recording."

  • 2399: Water Souls
Geyser Hill reimagined by Kim Rueger.
"The cyclical sound of the field recording - looping bubbles and drips, rising and falling in random patterns - led me to create this meditation, made solely from the sound of the water itself.
All parts in this piece are sections of the Geyser Hill recording; manipulated, processed, and the entire piece composed in the Borderlands Granular app for iPad. Individual streams (of audio) were then rendered out as multitrack stems and re-mixed in a DAW (Sonar), with a few finishing filter and reverb touches.
Like its sound source, the piece calls on ancient elements, that bubble and float to the surface. Patterns emerge from the patter. Flowing, oscillating drones give rise to whisper-like voices. In the end, the droning spirits fade back into the rattling mist."

  • 2396: A Gaggle for the 21st Century
Canada geese reimagined by Glenn Sogge.
"Stretched out to 11-12 times as long with modifications to the partials and filtering as it was being stretched. A reversed copy of the new file was made with the channels swapped. Both files were then modified by a complex effect chain in Native Instruments' Absynth with differences in FX order and some settings for each track.
The title was influenced by the metallic sounds suggesting an android or robotic future even for Nature."

  • 2395: Guitar for Sawmill Geyser
Sawmill Geyser reimagined by Luis Antero.
"For this music piece, I used a braguesa, a traditional guitar from the Minho region, Portugal, which I later manipulated with the purpose of building a quiet and minimal ambience. The original recording contributed to this."
