The identity of the church is represented by how we love others. It is the Spirit of God in us and through us that leads us from convenience to compassion transcending any racial and cultural differences, political climates and walks of life. In a generation that is drowning in sin and real chaos, now more than ever we need to represent a real church for a real world.

Through time God has attempted to reveal himself to us and be in relationship with us. Truly understanding the identity of the living God can only come through revelation of the Spirit. Scripture cannot contradict itself and is clear on the identity of who God is. One God, one faith, one baptism. Father in creation, Son in redemption and Holy Spirit in regeneration. We are created in the image of God and what he says about us gives us purpose and defines our identity. Receiving the gift of God is completely based on his unmerited grace. What could we possibly offer to God that would truly honor Him if everything already belongs to Him? From what we receive of His hand we offer back to Him from a place of surrender, dependency and obedience. Biblical stewardship means recognizing that God owns everything, and we act as stewards of His resources rather than absolute owners. The topic of biblical financial stewardship typically stirs up misconceptions. Money engages our emotions based on what we know and our current beliefs of money. Trust is something that can be given until it's lost. Once it's lost it is very difficult to earn back. We've all experienced some type of betrayal or let down at some point in our life creating trust issues. Despite what caused our pain, sometimes our trust issues blend into how we trust God or not. People can fail us and not show up, but God is always present. People can fail us and walk out of our life, but God desires close relationship. People can take more from us than we're planning to give, but God is interested in pouring into our life. People are fallible, but God is infallible and his word is true. God is looking to heal us from our pain and yet sometimes both are true. We can be triggered but yet we continue to hope and learn to trust God's word.

In every moment of distress the Lord has rescued, redeemed and restored. Once you have trusted in God and he has shown up time after time we encounter the depth of his love. Every instance that we call out to God he has shown his faithfulness in our frailty.

Has the Lord rescued you from distress? Has the Lord redeemed you from your shortcomings? Has the Lord restored your life in any way? We must have genuine worship to offer. Sing one more song in gratitude and offer songs of praise to the one true living God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

We no longer have to sing the tune to our own song. We can now sing a new song in surrender to the Lord. As we give God the rightful position as King, Lord and Savior of our lives he puts a new song in our mouth.
