It's finally Friday! But the news doesn't take a break. Senate Democrats are in a rock and a hard place when it comes to the continuing resolution. And Dr. Oz (yep...the guy from TV) is Trump's pick to lead Medicare and Medicaid even though he wants to gut the programs. These are wildly popular programs, and we all know someone who relies on them. Maggie also looks at Section 4 of the CR. There's a sneaky section that keeps Donald Trump's tariffs in place, and there's not a darn thing Congress can do. How's the price of eggs treating you?

Tom Palzewicz is back as Maggie's co-host. They discuss the Supreme Court debate between Brad Schimel and Susan Crawford. If you're sick of government not getting it done, then what you want is state legislators that can agree in good faith. As the spring election approaches, please do your research. Take off the party glasses and vote for the candidate that is going to ensure that your vote is going to count now and for years to come. Maggie and Tom are also joined by Daniel Bauman, running for Alderman in District 3 in Milwaukee. Daniel explains why he decided to run for office. He also explains why voters should cast their votes for him on April 1. He's a guy that's going to hit the ground running from day one. Daniel has already built connections and wants to work across all districts.
Tom Palzewicz, the most reasonable guy in politics, is back today as Maggie's co-host. Maggie and Tom discuss the lawlessness of the Trump administration. Who enforces these court orders that Trump is ignoring? And what is the point of all of these blatantly unconstitutional actions? The fear. And law firms, lawyers, journalists, media companies, governments, non profits are capitulating. Next, they are joined by Ben Wickler, Chair of Wisconsim Democratic Party, to discuss Elon Musk's desire to own the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Schimel's eagerness to bend the knee. Maggie explains why Schimel would never pass a bar exam.

Former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes joins Maggie for "Broad Appeal." Obviously, he's not a woman, but he does have a story about a female federal employee fired under a DOGE directive. As Mandela says, these are real people with real stories in an unstable situation. You can watch the entire interview at https://www.therecombobulationarea.news/p/pawn-in-a-billionaires-game-a-federal. Maggie and Mandela also discuss a possible government shutdown. Mandela believes in good faith negotiations. He doesn't believe the GOP is currently acting in good faith though. If he were representing WI in the US Senate, Mandela would not vote for the GOP budget plan. He encourages us to dig deep and give everything that's happening as much attention as we would in a presidential election!

Gray Gunderson is back for "Your Neck of the Woods," and he brings Rich LoCascio from Civic Media's WRJN with him today. As it turns out, you can also catch Rich in a wrestling ring. You won't see him down on the mat, but you will hear his voice...as a professional ring announcer. Rich explains what the wrestling term "kayfabe" means. To save you a Google search: It's a form of story-telling where there's an agreement between professional wrestlers and their fans pretend that staged wrestling events, stories, characters, etc., are genuine. Plus, Jeramey Jannene from "Urban Milwaukee" joins Maggie for "Milwaukee As A Microcosm." Jeramey breaks some news from the Department of Transportation. Grants for upwards of $110 million in upgrades to roads, bikes lanes, and other improvements around the state are now under scrutiny by the Trump administration. Check out more from "Urban Milwaukee" at

We cover a lot of politics on Civic Media, but we all need a break from the daily grind and some folks find that in a book club. Author Laura Bird is back on UpNorthNews Radio and instead of recommending books, she’s telling us all about how to find a good book club or how to create one that’s just right for you and your friends.
The, Maino & the Mayor is joined by Will Kocken from H.O.O.A.H, WI, to discuss what you can do this week: Invest in Veterans Week. He suggests reaching out one-on-one to have a conversation and donating to local veterans service organizations. Will also says that Northeast Wisconsin is very supportive of veterans and veteran service organizations.
After that on Matenaer On Air, Jane, Greg and Calvin are joined by host of Amicus: A Law Review, Jim Santelle for the start of a weekly segment where we will take a deep dive into the news coming out of the courts around the country, and possibly the world. This week we're talking about the decision from SCOTUS on whether or not President Trump can withhold payments from foreign aid groups and how one ally voted against the president. Jim also draws comparison between Trump and leaders of bygone days when they declare "I am the law".
The hour closes out with The John and Gordy Show welcoming back Mike McCabe to talk about claiming white as the symbolic color of those unhappy with either party.
