Kilkee Sustainable Energy Community group is launching a community energy masterplan for the area tonight.

The Kilkee Community Energy Master Plan has been developed to enable the community to look at its existing and future needs of power, heat, and transport and to determine where it sees priorities and opportunities for action.

The plan will be launched by Avril Hickey of the SEAI, and presented by Shane Egan, the energy engineer who completed it, at the Sweeney Cultúrlan this evening at 7.30pm.

On Wednesday's Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Dr Susan Coote who is a Physiotherapist, Associate Professor in Physiotherapy in the Department of Clinical Therapies at UL and is working with MS Ireland. She was accompanied by Fergal O'Keefe who is the Communications Officer with MS Ireland. The pair spoke about the upcoming fundraiser where MS Ireland will call on the public to do 3,000 push ups over the month of March. This challenge is part of an initiative to raise funds for MS Ireland in order to obtain more physiotherapists nationwide. Fergal outlined the health benefits of carrying out such a task and gave details of how to register for the fundraiser. Susan outlined the various types of push ups that there are in order to facilitate every individual wishing to take part in the fundraiser.

On Wednesday's Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Maura Clancy and Colm Linnane who are members of the Corofin Dramatic Society. The society are set to host their production of 'Stolen Child' by Bairbre Ní Caoimh and Yvonne Quin. The duo discussed the production which is based on a woman who was adopted at birth and embarks on a journey to be reunited with her biological mother. Maura described the positive impact that the society has had on the local community and the entertainment they provide. Colm highlighted some of the main characters in the production and described their roles. The production is set to take place in Corofin Community Hall on Wednesday 22nd of February and Thursday 23rd of February at 8pm. They will also take centre stage in Glór on Sunday 26th and Monday 27th of February at 8pm also.
