There’s exciting news in relation to the prospect of a new school building for Mary Immaculate Secondary School in Lisdoonvarna.

Confirmation has come through from the Minister for Education and her department of the purchase, subject to planning and finalisation of contracts, of 7 acres to provide the new building.

Parkinson’s Ireland Midwest Branch will host a special Parkinsons Seminar later today.

The event will take place at the Limerick Strand Hotel from 2pm.

The guest speaker will be a renowned Italian neurologist who was inspired by traditional music in Clare.

Niall Williams’s Time of the Child has won the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year Award.

The Clare-based author won the €20,000 prize, ahead of the July release of the -film adaptation of his debut novel.

Cruinniú na nÓg returns to Clare this coming weekend, the 7th of June.

Cruinniú na nÓg is a national day dedicated to free creative opportunities for children and young people under the age of 18.

An art exhibition is Ennis is highlighting Helium Arts’ growing work in supporting children at risk of social exclusion in Clare.

Free tie-in events will take place on Cruinniú na nÓg on 7th June.

When Morning Focus listener Michelle Coughlan joined us early last month, she was in a predicament.

After eight years living in Kilrush, Michelle had been served with a notice to quit by her landlord, having fallen €2,500 into rental arrears.

Michelle claimed she stopped paying rent in the last year due to her apartment’s persistent damp conditions.

When Michelle was last in studio, she outlined how she was left with little option but to sleep on the streets once her tenancy came to an end on the 15th of May, due to a lack of options.

Since then, she has been living in a tent. Michelle called in to studio to update us on her situation...

Clare boss Peter Keane says there's plenty of positives to take from his side's performance against Monaghan despite the result not going their way.

A straight knockout game against Louth now awaits Clare in the final game after the hosts came from behind to condemn The Banner to a second defeat of the Sam Maguire series on a score of 1-25 to 1-16.

A red hot first half saw Clare take a 14 points to seven lead into half time, with four two pointers registered in the opening period.

Keane says its was an admirable performance given the tough lead up to the game.

The manager of the Clare minor hurlers is hailing the composure his side showed to mount a second half comeback in their All Ireland quarter final.

The Banner will face Cork in the semi final after defeating Galway 2-21 to 2-13 in Thurles on Sunday.

Following an early second half penalty for the Tribesmen, Clare fought back from a four point deficit, hitting 1-10 with Galway only managing a further point in response.

Boss Ger O'Connell says a key factor in their victory was the players trusting their ability and hurling on instinct.
