This week as both the Spider-Verse and Clone High make their way back to screens big and small, we trace it back to Christopher Miller & Phil Lord's first animated feature: 2007's Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, written and directed by Miller & Lord, starring Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Bruce Campbell and Andy Samberg, adapted from the 1978 children's book of the same name. It's a movie J Mo picked up on 3D Blu for dirt cheap out of a Shoppers Drug Mart bargain bin, and unsurprisingly given the creative team at the helm, it's a funny movie with a lot of heart that we liked a whole lot.
Other topics discussed in this episode, beyond the wider work of Miller & Lord: Succession, Barry, BlackBerry, Black Barry, Jury Duty, Fast X, Are You There God? It's Me Margaret, and The Legend of Zelda.
If you'd like to watch the film along with us, it's currently streaming free in Canada on the CTV app, as well as on Netflix.
We'll back next week with a Jodie Foster aliens movie that's a lot different than that description might imply, 1997's Contact, written by Carl Sagan and directed by Robert Zemeckis.
