Club Cosmos Radio: An Astrology Podcast

In a month of highly activated and radically focused people-power, there’s so much potential to overcome the confusion. To drown out manipulation and find clarity in a stark truth. Communication breakthroughs. Mercury stations direct in Leo, Mars becomes determined to find justice in Libra, and Venus meets up with benevolent Jupiter in Cancer to bring a much-needed fairy godmother into the fray. A rare configuration of Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn - all the outer planets in tight aspect to one another - is activated not once, but three times this month. This will undoubtedly mark the beginning of a profound societal shift in how we conceptualize ourselves in a new world.

Plus the astrology of satire, the synastry of Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson, and a North Star when no one knows what’s next.

July is another wild month in a wild year. Every planet in our solar system except Uranus has changed signs in the past 8 months and now this month Uranus will change signs, too. An extremely rare, complete overhaul across the board. Join me as I dive into the rapid-fire acceleration of radical ideas and technological advances in transportation and communication that we’ve seen historically from Uranus in Gemini; what we can expect from it this time around; and how it will tie into the wave of change we’re already seeing the beginnings of from Pluto in Aquarius, Saturn-Neptune in Aries, and Jupiter in Cancer. But that’s not all! The decisions and plans made at the start of this month are bound to hit pushback and setback by early August. We have a Mercury retrograde in Leo, Mars in Virgo conjoining the South Node and squaring off with Venus in Gemini, along with a New and Full Moon that do some very heavy lifting. The pace quickens, things will likely continue to feel overwhelming, but people seem to be organizing in powerful ways, too. I try to ground all of it into a human reality for all of our sakes. Plus I go over Keith McNally’s birth chart to boot.

I'm quickly realizing in a year like this one, the best we can do is break it down month by month, so why not start in June? This month is sweet as a tootsie pop with an explosive center. Jupiter enters Cancer on June 9th for the next 13 months, one of the most positive transits there is! Find out what Jupiter in Cancer has looked like in history and what it could mean this time around: the housing market, the politics of belonging, nationalism, domesticity, nostalgia, sincerity, and music for babies. Things are complicated by squares to our newfound Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries and a shocking Mars-Uranus square mid-month, but we're also treated to some of the best new and full moons all year.

Saturn enters Aries on May 24th, 2025, a sign it has not inhabited since the late 90’s. Leah Shirley, fellow artist and astrologer, joins me on a deep dive into both the collective implications of Saturn in this new sign as well as what it means for Neptune to be riding right alongside him. There’s no sugar-coating this ride. Suit up! See why Saturn in Aries means a rise in rebellious youth culture, clashes with militant forces, and everyday rugged heroes. See also why this Saturn ingress can’t be considered without the giant influence of Neptune. Saturn-Neptune conjunctions are significant precursors to incredible cultural prosperity in our history, the start of which is sure to be a messy, impassioned, highly ideological construction of an entirely new reality.

Mercury is the guide between worlds. He describes our ability to communicate our internal thoughts to external dimensions. There is no better way to understand the power and potential of Mercury than through the craft of writing, but in what sign does it make for the wittiest writer? the one most obsessed with their mother? Most experimental? Most cinematic? Most heartbreakingly poetic?? Join me as I dive into the tenor, tone, and message of mercury in each of the signs. We have Vampire novels, screenplays, country boys, the classics, and the taboo; with an abundance of examples ranging from George Saunders to Danielle Steel to Billy Wilder. Prepare to take notes.

With eyes closed or wiiiide open, listen in on my conversation with artist, filmmaker, and fellow astro head Martine Syms. A Taurus Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Leo Rising.

Now that Pluto is in Aquarius the audience has changed. We don't have the same relationship to the hero's journey, nor do we need it told to us in the same way. Martine and I unintentionally attempt to tell a story of one here. We talk all things astrology, how the house is not a home (without you), squashing victimhood in the face of tragedy, grit vs Pluto, continuity, embracing the material dissolve, drugs, punks with guns, Walter de Maria's The Lightning Field, and living intuitively.

The future hangs in the balance. A new reality is blazing before us and this full moon has us recalibrating very sensitive scales. Libra, the sign of relationships, social connection, justice, fairness, harmony, peace, and beauty has been sucked dry by the Aries-Libra eclipses of the past two years and left with very little strength. This full moon is a chance to delicately hit reset. Because we all know we need it. Where can you be brave enough to depend more on others, and where can you be brave enough to venture out on your own? Find out in your horoscope!

It’s a re-run episode (but with a new intro)! What better time to revisit one of our earliest episodes than in the final closing chapter of Neptune in Pisces? On March 30th, Neptune enters Aries for the first time in 164 years and when Neptune enters a new sign we are abruptly awoken from a trance. We’re able to see the spell of the previous period more clearly and entranced by a new one.

Everything changed in 2011 — Steve Jobs died, Facebook bought Instagram, Netflix invented streaming, and our relationship to celebrity, technology and identity changed forever. Join us for a Pandora's unboxing of the dreams, fantasies and delusions that come with boundary-less interconnection, and explore the rise of social media, influencers, pop spirituality, GOOP, stan armies, and parasocial relationships through an astrological lens!

Spiritual Awakenings can take many forms, but the origin story almost always entails breaking through a crisis. This is usually the doings of Uranus, a planet that jolts you from a prior self into a new one. But only after retrogrades, eclipses, and deep confusion (familiar, non?). Plus when you’re an artist and Uranus touches your Venus, the planet of art and beauty, everything you make becomes charged with this new electricity. I’m joined by artist, tarot reader, and astrologer Natalie Labriola who was generous enough to share her own experience while I dug up all the cosmic notations influencing her along the way. We talk childhood ghosts, the Death card, growing up under the CIA, nebulous illness, Uranian healing, clean rooms, clothing for psychic protection, and the astrology of the spiritual awakenings of artists like Emma Kunz, Hilma af Klint, Pamela Colman Smith, and Nikki de Saint Phalle.

Natalie’s book Tarot: Timeless Secrets of the Ancient Mirror is out March 15th!
