Challenge

This is the first of four sessions at the 2015 Men's Conference at Singing Hills Conference Center on "The Challenge of Being a Man."

If we’re to move forward in our faith and mission, we must first make sure that we don’t fall back by failing to persevere in and hold fast our faith.

We must persevere in believing the gospel of Christ, even though it produces suffering and hardship, because Christ, our faithful high priest, has walked the path to glory through suffering — He is willing and able to help us walk it as well.

Jesus Christ, the Priest who is the Sacrifice, brings sinners to God’s presence by his blood & sympathetically shows mercy & grace to them in their struggle with sin.

Jesus Christ, the Prophet who is the Word, continues to speak to us – it is a privilege to hear him & a tragedy not to listen.

Holiness is necessary, since only those who conform to God's holiness can see God, and this holiness comes only by faith, both forensically and actually.

The Day of Atonement provides a vivid picture of what Christ had to achieve on the cross as both our Great High Priest and final sin offering so that we can now draw near to God with full assurance of faith. 

God will not allow His holiness to come in contact with human uncleanness, but He has provided the means by which His people may be cleansed – blood and water, which point us to the true cleansing available in Jesus Christ.
