I still remember how my entire family discovered NSYNC in the early 2000s. My eldest sister who worked as a sales representative at a movie rental store brought a CD plate that was supposedly meant to contain songs from Westlife home as we were all fans of their work. Fortunately for us the disc also contained five NSYNC songs which Bye bye so happens to be a part of. Back then we all loved "This I promise you" just because of how much it felt relatable to Westlife's catalogue but as time progressed we got absorbed into the rest.

To be honest I cannot remember the last time I played this song because of how bulky my playlists are. However the Deadpool and wolverine movie completely reignited my love for it once again. It blew up the song's popularity going as far as even adding the movie's name into the song on streaming platforms giving it a renewed fame once again.

Bye bye is a farewell song to a horrible partner who treats her lover poorly. I really loved the part where they said I don't wanna be a fool in this game of love so that means they have leave her behind to move on with their lives. Enough is enough even if she ends up hating them.. they don't care as long as they find the peace they crave, then everything will be ok.. I think people need to do this more often as it spares the heart more damage

Hello everyone welcome to the 195th week of Afritunes. I am @ coderaikiri and for my entry this week I'll be presenting a song cover to Iya-Basira by styl plus..... So stay tuned and enjoy.

Styl plus was a three man boy band in Nigeria that focused on Afro-blues. As a boy I was privileged to listen to some of their tracks thanks to my older sisters.... The first time I listened to the song iya basira I was super young and didn't really understand what it was all about but I just enjoyed watching the music video and tried memorizing the lyrics.

The song is more a less s story about three young men obsessed with the cooking of a woman who runs a local restaurant. Their love for her food grows so dero that they can't even concentrate with their normal lives ignoring both family and their loved ones. It's gotten so bad that they think her meals are laced with voodoo so they are in search of a remedy for their problems.

The theme A different world completely rhymes with this song and even takes a step further. Before the song starts the main character was talking to the princess of Agraba in an attempts to win her heart when all his attempts fails he offers to take her for a ride on his flying carpet. The princess who has been kept locked away in the castle her whole life goes with him and while they are on the carpet, Aladdin offers to show her a completely different world from the one she is already used to. I just love how the song ends with both parties agreeing to share this new world together..... I hope you all enjoy this beautiful song that holds a special place in my heart....

I remain my humble self @coderaikiri and for my entry to this beautiful world where creativity shines brightest I'll be presenting a cover to the song The matter by Wizkid and Maleek Berry.....

My friend would always say that every Nigerian Gen z started off as a hardcore Wizkid fan (FC) before moving on to other fan base that appealed to their personalities and I couldn't have agreed more. When Wizkid came into the music industry, he immediately won our hearts because he represented the very thing every young person wanted to see, a youngster thriving in the music space... At some point people started calling the Nigerian version of Justin Bieber because he was also young and talented.

After leaving the EME record label, things seemed like it wasn't going to work out for the young artist but Wizkid proved them wrong by dropping a series of hits that his audience has no option but to love him more... Back to the matter was one of them... I remember when this song dropped and I was just in SS 1, I tried mimicking everything about it down to the way he walked in the music video . The song was a hit and being a part of that generational run had me in my feelings and in my opinion that period was the time Afrobeats had substance... The song was not only incredible, it was also danceable and thank God I represented well.

The excitement that springs from my gut whenever I remember there's a community on hive that focuses on songs from Mama Africa is unexplainable. Every song I drop here has a historical relevance to my story usually revolving around my feelings back then and important memorable events, *Do me* happens to be one of them. Greetings and salutations to my fellow hivers, welcome to another incredible week (294th) on the hive open mic community with an incredible theme for this week titled "love at first sight". I remain my humble self @coderaikiri and for my entry to this incredible theme, I have the privilege of presenting one of Ed Sheeran's song - Shape of you so stay tuned and enjoy.

Being a huge love song enthusiast and a die hard preacher of everything it represents, this week's theme was something that had me grinning from ear to ear and confused at the same time as I was flooded with numerous options with each looking like the perfect option. It took me awhile but I finally settled for this particular song as it reminded me of a time when everything felt like something straight out of a fairytale story.

Shape of you starts off exactly the way it what the requirements of this week represents. Two strangers hitting it of from their first interaction in the bar of all places to top it up. What even blows my mind even more is that fact that the girl actually approached the guy, something that almost never happens in my country and despite other guys being present she still choose to flirt with him and just him alone. From the story, you'll be surprised at the amount of things that can happen in just 24 hours as it was more than enough for two strangers to become soul mates, dancing together, getting in a taxi and kissing in the back seat like old time lovers. Till this day I still haven't forgiven Normani for not releasing a solo album when it seemed like the entire music industry was finally behind her but that aside let's talk about this project itself. What do you do when your music career is at its peak? You feature an artiste that has the media right on her every move and that was what Khalid did giving birth to this beautiful gem.

A lot of people might be tired of how I always spam songs centered on love but I can't help it, that's one theme I can't help myself with. The song "love lies" symbolizes exactly what it means - A deceptive relationship. It's just like giving your all in a relationship but can't even get honesty as the bare minimum so both artists spend the entirety of the entire song asking this question "Tell me why you love lies?".

The theme for this week revolves around making the impossible possible, doing the extraordinary in a place where the ordinary is the only way people know. There are countless problems people have an internal issues that needs to be kept at bay, fighting Demonz is one of them. With a theme like this one needs to think out of the box to find something that tallys in every which way and luckily for me I happen to know one that does. As a little boy, Westlife was that boy band everyone around me seemed to love and that includes every direct member of my family. My sister bought a CD and against all odds was the second song on the list. I never really liked the song back then but unfortunately I had to listen to it because of my sisters and now I am grateful I did.

Just like the implies, Against all odds represents doing the impossible even when it seems hopeless. Moving mountains also represents impossibility that is being made possible through the sheer force of will and consistent effort.
