  • Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 41// Chris Brown - Grass ain't Greener(cover) by coderaikiri

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=coderaikiri/ybagqahw
Hello everyone it's the 41st week of artistry on the vibes Web3 Music Competition and to that I say welcome to my domain, I remain my humble self @coderaikiri and to participate for this week's edition I'll be presenting a song cover of Chris Brown's grass ain't greener.

Grass ain't Greener is a song that reflects on exactly what the title stands for - An eye opener to the reality of life. People get easily overwhelmed by their surroundings and when they see that others are doing well, they automatically assume that it is always better on the other side and end leaving something great for less only to realize they've made a terrible mistake and probably end up losing the fish at hand chasing the shark..
This song was dropped by the artist to commemorate his birthday. The visuals are stunning and the song quite enjoyable with soothing lyrics that everyone can relate to. I hope y'all listen and enjoy.
    Thank you.
    Lyrics
    Intro]
    (Oh, yeah)
    (Oh, yeah)

    [Verse 1]

You ain't the girl that you used to be
You say you're done, you're movin' on
This ain't the world that it used to be
Looks like you've won, looks like you've won
Sick of leavin' messages on your cell
A true lover, but when I'm not there
Girl, you had somebody that really cared
How you fuck it up, girl, it's not fair
    [Chorus]
You used to be the one to talk to on the side
Waitin' for my love to break up (Oh-woah)
It's crazy how your ass can walk through every night
Actin' like you been a player
That grass ain't greener on the other side
    Oh, yeah
That grass ain't greener on the other side (It, it ain't green)
    Oh, yeah (It ain't green)

    [Verse 2]

Seems like ain't nothin' cool about bein' real (No)
No one's honest about what they feel
Take a ho and try to treat her well
She'll be back up at the club again (I, huh)
I know what you want, but you're not gon' get it
'Less I know for sure that you're vibin' with me
You do what you want with somebody else
    I'm gone, baby

    [Chorus]

You used to be the one to talk to on the side
Waitin' for my love to break up (Oh-woah)
It's crazy how your ass can walk through every night
Actin' like you been a player
That grass ain't greener on the other side
I been there, oh, yeah, I been there
That grass ain't greener on the other side (I, it, it ain't green)
Oh, yeah (Oh, yeah, it ain't green)
    [Verse 3]
My homie said I need to stop it
My momma said, "Bitches be watchin' you
They gon' put their hand all in your pocket
For the credit card that's in your wallet"
    Drinkin' liquor when we celebratin'
    Calculatin' all my funds
Tryna get a nigga take the condom off
'Cause she want that tax every month (Woo)
I know what you want, but you're not gon' get it
Take my kindness for weakness when you act sadity
Keepin' it one hunnid ain't your forté
    You used to be

    [Chorus]

You used to be the one to talk to on the side
Waitin' for my love to break up (Oh-woah)
It's crazy how your ass can walk through every night
Actin' like you been a player
That grass ain't greener on the other side
    Oh, yeah (Oh, yeah)
That grass ain't greener on the other side (Yeah-yeah, it, it ain't green)
Oh, yeah, other side (It ain't green)

  • Hive open mic - Week 284 : A cover of Dusk till Dawn by Zayn and sia

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=coderaikiri/hvzgutvh
Greetings to my fellow hivers, we are back again on the hive open mic community with another theme for this week titled "come back". I remain my humble self @coderaikiri and for my entry to this incredible opportunity I'll be presenting an acapella to the cover dusk till dawn by two incredible artists Zayn and sia.

If there's something I love about this song other than how incredible it is, it has to be the nigh perfection of the music video and how it feels you are watching a mini action movie😁😁. Dusk till Dawn is not your average love song, it is one of affirmations about always being available both physically and emotionally. Instead of waiting for the partner to just come back, why not stick with them through the good and the bad times. Listening to this song as a teenager moved me in ways I cannot even describe and my sisters loving it too made it feel better in all kinds of ways.

I hope you listen and enjoy, thanks
.... Gratitude to @hiveopenmic @jesuslnrs @cabelindsay and other facilitators of this great community for making this a possibility, your efforts will definitely produce positive results.
    LYRICS
    [Verse 1: ZAYN]
    Not tryna be indie
    Not tryna be cool
    Just tryna be in this
    Tell me, are you too?
Can you feel where the wind is?
    Can you feel it through
    All of the windows
    Inside this room?

    [Refrain: ZAYN]

'Cause I wanna touch you, baby
And I wanna feel you too
I wanna see the sun rise on your sins
    Just me and you
    [Pre-Chorus: ZAYN & Sia, Sia]
Light it up, on the run
    Let's make love tonight
Make it up, fall in love, try
    (Baby, I'm right here)

    [Chorus: ZAYN & Sia]

    But you'll never be alone
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
    Baby, I'm right here
I'll hold you when things go wrong
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
    Baby, I'm right here

    [Post-Chorus: ZAYN & Sia]

I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
    Baby, I'm right here

    [Verse 2: ZAYN]

We were shut like a jacket
    So do your zip
We would roll down the rapids
To find a wave that fits
Can you feel where the wind is?
    Can you feel it through
    All of the windows
    Inside this room?
    [Refrain: ZAYN & Sia]
'Cause I wanna touch you, baby
    I wanna feel you too
I wanna see the sun rise on your sins
    Just me and you

    [Pre-Chorus: ZAYN & Sia, Sia]

Light it up, on the run
    Let's make love tonight
Make it up, fall in love, try
    (Baby, I'm right here)

    [Chorus: ZAYN & Sia]

    But you'll never be alone
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
    Baby, I'm right here
I'll hold you when things go wrong
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
I'll be with you from dusk till dawn
    Baby, I'm right here

    [Bridge: ZAYN & Sia, ZAYN]

Girl, give love to your body
It's only you that can stop it
Girl, give love to your body
It's only you that can stop it
Girl, give love to your body
It's only you that can stop it
Girl, give love to your body
Girl, give love to your body

  • AFRI-TUNES Week 184// Your Number Remix - Ayo Jay ft Chris Brown & Kid Ink

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=coderaikiri/vhhmdagv
Good day everyone, greetings from this side. Welcome to another lovely week on Afritunes, I am @ coderaikiri and this is 184th edition of this incredible community. This week I'll be presenting an acapella cover to the remix of Ayo Jay's Your number

Do you know how good a song has to be to have multiple versions all of which made numbers on a global scale cooled off for almost a decade and popped right back again?? That's just how incredible this song actually is.
Your number is exactly what the name implies can I get your number. It's nothing new especially for the males. You see a girl you like, get into small talks and after awhile you ask for her number to converse better later. I really liked how Chris Brown jumped in on the first verse for someone who is not even an Afrobeat artist he really delivered displaying his versatility.
The song is an old gem that'll never lose its flair, give it a try and you'll be surprised at how beautiful it is...
    Thank you

    Lyrics
    Ayo Jay & Chris Brown:]
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?

    [Chris Brown:]

Every time she see me, she start kissing and biting, fucking and fighting
She want see a cocky man ting, she a ride it
Pulling me inside her, so I pull up
We butt naked under my covers with the lights off
    Baby, you're starting to wonder
Girl, I'mma have to keep it 100
Can I get you a towel? Wipe you down
Before you go, please can I get your number?

    [Ayo Jay & Chris Brown:]

Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Me, I wanna call you, oh
See, I want your number, girl
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Me, I wanna call you, call you, call you
    656-547-853 ring
See, I'm already dialing baby, hello
    656-547-853 ring
See, I'm already dialing baby, hello

    [Ayo Jay:]

Oh, it's Jay Baba and Melvitto on the beat
Wanna tell you a story about this girl we had just meet
She looking fly, yeah she’s looking neat
The boy is looking like money, right from my head down to my feet
She just smile at me, oh
I don't really know what it means so
Me, I'm in a bit of a limbo
But still I will make a move on this young lady

    [Ayo Jay & Chris Brown:]

Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Me, I wanna call you, oh
See, I want your number, girl
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Me, I wanna call you, call you, call you
    656-547-853 ring
See, I'm already dialing baby, hello
    656-547-853 ring
See, I'm already dialing baby, hello

    [Kid Ink:]

    Can I get your number?
I hit you right before you slumber
I go down, I go under, Australian
Under covers, I be under there spellin'
A lil high off that endo
They gon' hear you outside from the indoors
    When I have you screamin'
    Slow motion, have you leanin'
On a Saturday night like Kenan
Put that ass to sleep, have you dreamin', yeah
You gon' feel it in the mornin'
Just give me a minute, let me find out where my phone is

    [Ayo Jay & Chris Brown:]

Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Me, I wanna call you, oh

Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?

    656-547-853 ring
See, I'm already dialing baby, hello

    [Ayo Jay:]

    Girl you are killing it
Your body is banging and I am feeling it
The way I am feeling there’s no concealing it
You’re young, you’re fine, so magnificent
Go on girl, yeah just keep killing it
Your body like an orange and I am peeling it
The way I am feeling there’s no concealing it
And that’s why I, I, I am really feeling it so

    [Ayo Jay & Chris Brown:]

Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Me, I wanna call you, oh

Can I get your number, girl?
Can I get your number, girl?
Me, I wanna call you, call you, call you

  • Hive open mic - Locked out of Heaven Bruno Mars cover

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=coderaikiri/waatqjsc
It's another week on Hive open mic and this time the theme is titled in the darkness. Hello everyone I am coderaikiri and welcome to my entry in this beautiful community. For my entry this lovely week I'll be presenting a cover to the song locked out of heaven by Bruno mars so stay tuned.

Is there any kind of darkness worst than being locked out of heaven even if it is metaphorically?? An absolute no would be the answer. This song is still a love song and funny enough I did not like the original version because the first time I heard it was from a movie titled status update. The main character of the movie sang this song at s high school cafeteria and it took me three whole years before realizing the song actually belonged to Bruno. The song talks about feeling lost,in the dark and on the losing side of life after finally finding that special one. Ever had a feeling that your whole life has been a mess after discovering that one thing you've obviously been missing?? Well that's just what this song is all about.... So stay tuned and find your own version of light.
    Thanks.

  • The HL Creative Sunday Initiative: NSYNC I'll Never Stop (cover) by coderaikiri

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=coderaikiri/tijcgejc
Hey hey it's another Sunday so ofcourse creativity is about to be unleash on the blockchain. Greetings everyone, welcome to another edition of the hive learners creative Sunday Initiative, I am @coderaikiri and for my entry this beautiful Sunday I'll be presenting a song cover I'll never stop by the wonderous boy band NSYNC.

Known for their exceptional style, beautiful lyrics and catchy songs, Nsync found popularity in the late 90s but were still pretty much unknown in Nigeria because the backstreet boys and Westlife were the main thing in the country then. Discovering Nysnc for me was a complete accident as their songs were shuffled into a movie disc my elder sister who worked at a movie rental store brought back home. I fell in love with their songs since boyhood as I thought they looked pretty much like the backstreet boys.

I'll never stop wasn't always one of the songs I loved from their catalogue because of the music or lyrics, the reason I loved it as a boy was primarily because the video looked very interesting to watch back then as it showed their various concerts around the world . They were even surfing from great heights with ropes and crowds were right below cheering them. Another thing were the ladies shown singing their songs in a room till it eventually ends in a pillow fight 😁 😁.
The song truly means a lot to me and I gotta say I am grateful I got to experience them at the peak of their career before the group disbanded😞😞.
So stay tuned and enjoy.... Thank you

  • Hive Open Mic Week 282// Hello Brother From legacy

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=coderaikiri/aclixnzm
Hello everyone, Greetings from this side and welcome to another lovely edition of Hive Open Mic . I am @coderaikiri and for my entry this week, I'll be performing a song titled hello brother from the series Legacy.

Legacy is a spinoff show from the vampire diaries which tells the story of Hope Michaelson the daughter of a powerful hybrid - Nicklaus. In the third episode of the third season the school of supernaturals decided to create a play and what do they choose, the life of two brothers from the prequel Stefan and Damon which was acted by Jed and Kaleb.
In the song the two actors tell the story of the complicated relationship between both brothers, the elder( Damon) ruining the younger's life any time he steps into it especially when it comes to the issues of the heart (love). The two have through a lot together over the numerous decades together and Damon still hasn't changed (a perfect replica of how their relationship is). In the begining of vampire diaries Damon walks into Stefan's life again and that's how the music starts as well with Damon (played by Kaleb) admitting he might do something destructive yet again. The song is more like a conversation between the two brothers with each trying to express themselves the best way they know how.
Songs about brothers usually refer to bonds and moments shared but in the case of these two it is usually filled with toxicity. I hope you listen, enjoy and if you haven't seen the series I'd recommend you do it's really worth the watch.... Thanks for stopping by guys.

    LYRICS

    [KALEB]
You know me better than anyone
You know my thoughts before they've begun
    You know my darkest desires
What lays me low, what inspires
And you hold it over me

    [JED]

We've shared more than a lifetime together
Fought more battles than I can remember
    And when we're under attack
You stick the knife in my back
And you'll never let me go
    [KALEB]
    Oh hello brother
Therе are things in my heart only you can see
Therе's no other person on Earth who knows you like me
I wanna be free of you
    But I need you
A fate that I hate but I have to accept
    Hello brother
    What do we do next?

So I see you've made a new lady friend

A face I thought I'd never see again

    [JED]

    There's a calmness when she's near
I could live life in peace here

    [BOTH]

Unless I get in the way
    So I'll say
    Hello brother
There are things in my heart only you can see
There's no other soul on Earth who knows you like me
I wanna be free of you
    But I need you
A fate that I hate but I have to accept
    [KALEB]
    And so brother
    Guess what I'll do next
    Watch what I'll do next
    Watch what I'll do next
    Guess what I'll do next
    Watch what I'll do next

  • Vibes Web3 Music Competition Week 40// Akon's Ghetto (cover) by coderaikiri

    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=coderaikiri/zfqxfksz
Greetings and salutations to my fellow hivers, I wish you a splendid day whenever this video gets to you. Welcome once more to another edition of Vibes Web 3 Music Competition, I remain the very same @Coderaikiri and for my entry this lovely week I'll be performing a cover to Ghetto by Akon.

Looking back to Akon's catalogue, the man really created something unique with his pattern of music and if my memory serves me right I do believe he is the first rapper to incorporate Ruggedity into RnB. He blended ghetto life and thuggery into something beautiful that the whole just had to accept it.
Ghetto is a song about life of the average black American in the streets. People going to jail, children starving, teen pregnancy and all sorts of negative vices. The only hope they have is too keep pushing, keep fighting, hoping and praying that things gets better even when it dies not seem like it will happen anytime soon. The worst part about the ghetto is that it has similarities with quicksand taking its inhabitants to the bottom and there's no form of help coming at all. Everybody talks about living the ghetto but only a handful of individuals are lucky enough to accomplish this feat.
The song is a true beauty and I hope we all listen and enjoy it..
    Thanks

    LYRICS
    Ghetto, ghetto
    Ghetto, ghetto livin'

These streets remind me of quicksand

When you're on it, you'll keep goin' down
And there's no one to hold on to
And there's no one to pull you out
You keep on fallin', no one can hear you callin'
    So you end up self-destructin'
On the corner with the toolie on the waist line
Just got up out the thing doin' state time
Teeth marks on my back from the K-9
Dark memories of when there was no sunshine
'Cause they said that I wouldn't make it
    I remember like yesterday
Holdin' on to what God gave me

    'Cause that's the life

When you're livin' in the (ghetto)
    And eatin' in the (ghetto)
    Oh, sleepin' in the (ghetto)
    Ghetto, that's the life
When you're livin' in the (ghetto)
    And eatin' in the (ghetto)
Oh, sleepin' in the (ghetto, ghetto)

    No need to cherish luxuries

    'Cause everything come and go
Even the life that you have is borrowed
    'Cause you're not promised tomorrow
So live your life as if every day is gon' be your last
    Once you've moved forward
You can't go back just to remove your past
'Cause you gotta be willin' to pray
Yes, there gotta be, there gotta be a better way
Yes, you gotta be willin' to pray
'Cause there gotta be, there gotta be a better day
Whoever said that the struggle would stop today?
A lot a niggas dead or locked away
Teenage women growin' up with AIDS

    'Cause that's the life

When you're livin' in the (ghetto)
    Oh, eatin' in the (ghetto)
    Oh, sleepin' in the (ghetto)
    Ghetto, that's the life
When you're livin' in the (ghetto)
    Oh, eatin' in the (ghetto)
Oh, sleepin' in the (ghetto, ghetto)

Gun shots every night in the (ghetto)

Crooked cops on sight in the (ghetto)
Everyday is a fight in the (ghetto)
Oh oh oh oh oh (ghetto livin')
Got kids to feed in the (ghetto)
Sellin' coke and weed in the (ghetto)
Everyday somebody bleed in the (ghetto)
Oh oh oh oh oh (ghetto livin')

    'Cause that's the life

When you're livin' in the (ghetto)
    Oh, eatin' in the (ghetto)
    Oh, sleepin' in the (ghetto)
    Ghetto, that's the life

Welcome to the 182nd edition of Afritunes, I am @coderaikiri and for entry this lovely week I'll be presenting a song cover to Reekado Bank's 2021 hit single titled Ozumba Mbadiwe stay tuned fams.

A lot of times these artists focus heavenly on love songs, so when Reeky-baby did something this spectacular after months of hiatus, it was worth listening to. The song can be seen as an advise, a word of caution and the entirety of life. Ozumba Mbadiwe was a Nigerian Nationalist who gave his all for his country and even participated in the civil war fighting for a cause he deeply believed in. I guess the song is encouraging us all to fight the good fight to make the country a better place. The part where Reekado talked about the casualties of the #endsars protest on the 20th of October 2020 really hits different. I everything you do just remember if you thing you are big and you only fight for yourself, you are definitely big enough.
I hope you listen and enjoy this great song
    Thanks.....

  • The HL Creative Sunday Initiative: Chris Brown Liquor (cover) by coderaikiri

Good day everyone a wonderful Sunday to my fellow hivers. Welcome to another edition of Hive Learners creative Sunday Initiative. I am Coderaikiri and for my own version of creativity I'll be presenting an acapella to Chris Brown's Liquor.

2014 was the year when Breezy was my favourite artist and what he did with liquor where about 3-4 songs felt like a story moving into each other made even more fascinated by his projects. Just like the name implies, liquor describes being intoxicated metaphorically by a someone's love. The music video literally starts with the artist in a bar with hazy background showing him already drunk because something was slipped into his drink. The song is truly beautiful and I hope you listen and enjoy
    Thanks and cheerios

Hive Open Mic Week 28q// Sam smith - Too Good at Goodbye (cover) by coderaikiri

Greetings everyone, welcome to another edition of Hive Open Mic. I am @coderaikiri and for this week's entry (281st) I'll be performing an acapella to the song Too Good at good bye.
Not really in tuned with the theme of vacation but it involves leaving and honestly that kinda has some sort of affiliation with travelling as saying goodbye is what we tell people who leaving.
Imagine being so used to people walking away that it becomes a norm with you life that it doesn't even hurt you anymore and you expect every person in you life especially the ones you are intimate with to eventually leave. That's just the basics of this song and to be fair this happens to a lot of persons, myself included.
Way too good at good bye is seeking comfort in the inevitable - loneliness. People walk into you live just to travel permanently the same way they waltzed in and the pain of losing people becomes the only one you know. I know the pain of losing people to death hurts but the one of losing them to life strikes even more because you probably get to see them everyday but they are no more a part of you world.
I hope you listen and enjoy this song
    Thank you ..

    LYRICS

You must think that I'm stupid
You must think that I'm a fool
You must think that I'm new to this
But I have seen this all before

I'm never gonna let you close to me

Even though you mean the most to me
'Cause every time I open up, it hurts
So I'm never gonna get too close to you
Even when I mean the most to you
In case you go and leave me in the dirt

But every time you hurt me, the less that I cry

And every time you leave me, the quicker these tears dry
And every time you walk out, the less I love you
Baby, we don't stand a chance, it's sad but it's true

I'm way too good at goodbyes

(I'm way too good at goodbyes)
I'm way too good at goodbyes
(I'm way too good at goodbyes)

    I know you're thinking I'm heartless

    I know you're thinking I'm cold
    I'm just protecting my innocence
    I'm just protecting my soul

No way that you'll see me cry
(No way that you'll see me cry)

I'm way too good at goodbyes

(I'm way too good at goodbyes)
    No
    No, no, no, no, no
(I'm way too good at goodbyes)
    No, no, no, no
    No, no, no
(I'm way too good at goodbyes)
(No way that you'll see me cry)
(I'm way too good at goodbyes)

'Cause every time you hurt me, the less that I cry

And every time you leave me, the quicker these tears dry
And every time you walk out, the less I love you
Baby, we don't stand a chance, it's sad but it's true
I'm way too good at goodbyes
