Danny and Kevin watched a flick neither wanted to see called "The Gray Man." The movie is as boring as its title. The Netflix original "film" piqued their interest due to its star-studded cast and crew as well as its eyebrow-raising 200 million dollar budget. Many talking points were raised about the actual talent level of the Russo brothers, movies made for streaming services, and shared cinematic universes. No, "The Gray Man" movie is not part of the MCU, but the duo cannot seem to shake it.

It's finally here! The highly-anticipated, long-awaited, much-debated return of Thor. And it's fine. It's fine. It's actually pretty good. It's ok. It's a Thor movie. They made another Thor movie. This is the fourth Thor movie. Danny and Kevin discuss Thor: Love and Thunder. They ponder its place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and talk about the future of said universe. And they ask an important question about an unimportant topic: Have 14 years of MCU films broken our brains? Listen and find out.

With July 4th approaching, Danny and Kevin felt it appropriate to look back at one of the most American films ever made during its 50th anniversary year: The Godfather. The duo first review The Offer, a ten-part television limited series about the making of The Godfather that recently finished its run on Paramount +. You've probably never heard of it. During this discussion, Danny and Kevin make their boldest pitch yet: the Bob Evans Cinematic Universe or BECU. The Godfather is then reflected on and how it embodies American capitalism, the immigrant experience, and the family unit. You may be surprised to learn they are both fans of this little movie. 

Obi-Wan Kenobi (the show) is a show about Obi-Wan Kenobi (the character). It was made by committee for the purpose of generating branded content and driving consumer engagement. It is the most corporate piece of media in a franchise that has always skirted the boundaries between art and commerce. It is a wake-up call: You are being rooked. It is a bad show and watching it puts a man-child's soul at hazard. Danny and Kevin talked about it for over an hour and could have easily gone on for another three.

Jurassic World: Dominion is a box office smash but a critical dud. Even longtime fans are unable to muster much enthusiasm for the latest chapter in the Jurassic ERA franchise. Danny and Kevin discuss why this film is both very bad and completely unremarkable in its' badness. Does it follow through on the promise of Fallen Kingdom's bizarre ending set-up? Does it utilize the returning trio of Ellie-Alan-Ian well? Does it utilize the returning duo of Owen Thunderguns and Claire Stilletto well? Does it utilize any of the assembled actors well? Why were these questions that we asked ourselves? In the words of everyone's favorite candy-at-your-father's-funeral scamp, shame on us for getting fooled again.

Danny and Kevin discuss Steven Spielberg's popcorn apotheosis: Jurassic Park. It's a great film. If you've seen it before, you already know that. If you haven't see it, you should check it out. If you haven't seen it in a while, why not watch it again? It's one of those remarkable films where everything works and one of those unremarkable films whose success led to a parade of increasingly ludicrous sequels. The latest is out this weekend and Danny and Kevin will be dissecting that particular locust but, in the meantime, listen to them talk about something they enjoyed.

Like millions of other movie goers, Mary and Kevin were thrilled to see the blockbuster live up to the hype. Danny and Kevin are back in the cage to discuss Nicholas Kim Coppola's official comeback film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. This is a pro-Nic Cage podcast but did the movie live up to its promise? Danny and Kevin saw a Marvel movie, enjoyed it, and would like to talk to you about it. That's it. No twist. No hemming, no hawing. Just a couple of pals talkin' about wizards and witches. Except for the part where [REDACTED] showed up and they wanted to have always been dead. 

A few weeks ago, the Fresh Prince smacked Marty the Zebra in the goddamn face at a private industry awards ceremony. Since a G.I. Jane joke is what set off this incident, Danny and Kevin got to thinking about legendary director (and friend of the pod) Ridley Scott. Specifically, his most recent films from 2021 - The Last Duel and House of Gucci - and whether he's the most talented studio hack in showbiz. Yes, there is a new MCU film out but that episode isn't ready yet and we love this cantankerous sonofabitch.
