Danny and Kevin continue their discussion of Tom Cruise's ongoing blood ritual to get Xenu to grant him immortality. Dead Reckoning (Part One) is the latest impossible mission and it's great. Most movies are terrible but some are a blast. Why can't movies get gooder?

Danny and Kevin discuss the fascinating saga that is the Mission Impossible franchise. They start with a stripped-down thriller directed by Brian DePalma and end with an action master class starring straight shooter Alec Baldwin. In between, they discuss doves, direction, and death-defying stunts.

Danny and Kevin saw the latest DC cinematic offering: The Flash (featuring special appearances by Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Batman, General Zod, Supergirl, Superman, The Flash, Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Superman, The Flash, and Batman!) Oh, spoilers. Over the course of ninety minutes, the fellas discuss a film scientifically designed to make Kevin Smith cry. Is it any good? Eh, sort of! Kind of? Not really. Who knows? Who cares! Did any of these DC Extended Universe shenanigans matter? Or has it just been a decade of nonsense? Wow, we are old. You guys gonna see the new Indy movie?

Kevin, host of a podcast focused on nerd culture, saw one of the three most anticipated nerd movies of the year over one month after its release. "He needs to sort out his priorities" said Danny, who has been waiting patiently to wax poetic about the conclusion to the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. Danny and Kevin review Volume 3 while discussing the series, its connection to the rest of the MCU films, and Gunn's departure to the DCU. Inevitable comparisons are made to Return of the Jedi and the only other trilogy directed by the same filmmaker in the MCU: Ant-Man?!

Danny and Kevin gather at the Watchtower to discuss the latest offerings from the soon-to-be late and unlamented DC Extended Universe. First, the fellas discuss Black Adam and Kevin helps Danny remember that he may have actually had a blast. Then they move on to Shazam! Fury of the Gods and ponder the place of magick and sorcery in a world of superheroes and demigods. All in all, it's far more freewheeling conversation than the last episode and time is given over to important matters like Gorilla Grodd, Salman Rushdie, and the Kennedy Assassination. It's time for a Marvel Movie Catch Up! Danny and Kevin discuss the Marvel Organization Designed Only for Profit and its latest output: the second Black Panther and the third Ant-Man. One was a pretty decent follow-up to a good movie and the other was an abysmal conclusion to a pair of fun movies. The fellas ponder the future of this most lucrative of cinematic universes and wonder if disastrous ruination is the destiny of all such endeavors. And if flippant discussions about mental health are not your cup of tea please be aware that such conversations occur throughout this episode.

It's Star Wars season* and that means another conversation/therapy session about whether or not it's time for us to move on with our lives. Well, spoilers, it's not. Danny and Kevin watched the third season of The Mandalorian, read the news from Star Wars Celebration, and saw the Ahsoka trailer. Star Wars, it seems, is not finished with us.

Just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in! Danny and Kevin were convinced cinema was going the way of the dodo thanks to the rise of streaming services and too many effects driven films with all style and no substance. Hollywood has struggled with originality for years. But some brave souls at Paramount Pictures had the wholly original idea of taking a well-known IP and slapping its name on a movie that tells a familiar and somewhat predictable story, but earnestly and with care. Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves surprised Danny and Kevin a bit and melted their cold, dead hearts. The duo review this film and compare it to the first attempt at making a movie franchise out of the game, Dungeons and Dragons (2000), New Line Cinema's most epic fantasy film to date.
