  • Interview: Christians Who Curse Sometimes – CTJ #73

We have had a busy few weeks behind the scenes trying to get more content together.  Tim and I had the opportunity to have Mike on – who manages the Instagram account Christians Who Curse Sometimes.  We apologize for some of the audio issues we experienced early in the show but we seemed to get them sorted out during the interview.  We had a great time with Mike discussing our stories growing up in Christianity and meeting reality, how discipleship and accountability are lacking but sorely needed, and how we can all do better for ourselves and each other.

  • The 2020 Election: Our Response – CTJ #72

Well 2020 has been an interesting year to say the least, but at least it was an election year to calm things down a bit.  In this episode, the whole gang is back on the podcast to discuss the 2020 presidential election, the political divide, Christianity in politics, and more.  We do our best to have an open dialogue about all the crazy things going on and provide a path through all the chaos.

This episode was live streamed on Facebook, which we like to do on relevant episodes to get listener engagement so follow us on Facebook to get alerted when we are live streaming!

  • Our Response to Sean Feucht and #letusworship – CTJ #71

This week, Tim and Rob have a conversation surrounding Sean Feucht and his #letusworship movement.  While we do discuss Sean and these protest worship services we use this example to talk about how our theology impacts how we live out the Christian faith.  We talk about protesting, government restrictions, facemasks, and persecution. Let’s join the conversation this week!

  • John Crist & Cancel Culture: A Personal Story with Olivia – CTJ #70

We’ve made it to Episode 70, and this week we have our friend Olivia back on the podcast.  Tim and Jordan have a conversation with Olivia regarding her experience with John Crist, the Christian comedian.  This story leads into the bigger discussion of cancel culture, failure in church leadership, women in the church, and celebrity church culture.  This episode is very honest and open and we greatly appreciate Olivia’s willingness to come on and discuss her personal story.  Without further ado, let’s jump into the discussion this week.

  • The Stigma of Mental Health in Christianity – CTJ #69

This is episode #69 and this week we have on special guest Olivia Vinson to discuss the stigma of mental health in Christianity.  Olivia presents us with some shocking statistics as we talk through the culture surrounding mental health in Christianity.  While we are not experts in this field, we talk through some of the ways Christian culture has failed in properly dealing with many issues and how upcoming generations, starting with millennials, are more open to discuss and work through them.  Join us as we just start to scratch the surface of mental health in Christianity.

  • Racism in the Church Series, Ep 2 – CTJ #67

Continuing our series on Racism in the Church – we were so glad to have special guest Dorion Morgan this week.  Dorion is a pastor at Restoration Station Christian Fellowship but is also a practicing lawyer so we had him on to discuss his perspective from both a pastor and a lawyer on the racism that is and has been plaguing the US.  For most of the episode we found that it was best to just sit back and take in what Dorion was discussing but we try to get to some practical lessons that all of us, especially Christians, can take away on how to continue to eradicate systemic racism in the church and influence the world around us.  Let’s jump in and join the conversation.

  • Racism in the Church Series, Ep 1 – CTJ #66

This week we are starting a series of podcasts dedicated to racism.  Honestly, with the events of 2020, we have all been taking a serious look in the mirror and wondering, “how can I do better?”  We all agreed that one way would be to start a series on the topic focusing on racism in the church.  Where are we? How did we get here? Is there a path forward? Does the scripture give any insight into the issues we are facing in the USA and in 2020?  We obviously don’t have all the answers but knew we had to start somewhere.  Future episodes will feature other guests but join us for this opening conversation this week.

  • Why Christians Make Great Conspiracy Theorists – CTJ #65

This episode is all about calling out Christianity as a breeding ground for conspiracy theories.  Why are we so easily sucked into a mindset of current events that most would label as conspiracy or folklore?  Are there legitimate theological reasons or are we just a bunch of whackos that have found each other?  We discuss a lot of the current theories in 2020 that have been floating around, as well as the theological undertones of what makes Christianity ripe for believing some of the videos that tend to circulate during apocalyptic times.  Let’s jump in to the discussion this week.

  • Church Essentials (In COVID-19) – CTJ #64

Here in Episode #64, we are a month into quarantine due to COVID-19, and again we were live on Facebook discussing “Church Essentials.”  Considering the changes that have specifically happened to local churches due to the pandemic, we discuss what lessons we should be learning, what changes will continue after the pandemic ends, and how the church model is adapting.  Should we change? Should we stick to the old ways? Can we do better? What is the big picture?  Let’s jump on in and join the conversation.
