Auburn beats Tom Izzo’s Michigan State team 70-64 Johni Broome was huge with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Tahaad Pettiford was the only other Tigers in double figures with 10. Auburn will play Florida next Saturday.

With the win, the Crimson Tide advances to the Elite 8 in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history. Alabama beat Saint Mary’s in the Round of 32 to advance to its third-straight Sweet Sixteen for the first time in program history.

The Crimson Tide had SIX players in double figures: Chris Youngblood, Grant Nelson, Mo Dioubate, Mark Sears, Aden Holloway and Cliff Omoruyi. Grant Nelson hit the 1,000 rebound mark in tonight’s matchup and Mark Sears is now No. 3 on Alabama's all-time scoring list with 1,910 points.

Tonight was the first time Saint Mary’s allowed 80+ points since Alabama will play BYU in the Sweet Sixteen on Thursday.

Alabama Basketball ESCAPES Robert Morris, beating the Colonials 90-81 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Alabama’s Grant Nelson sat the entire first half, but played some in the second half, giving his team what it needed to pull off the Round of 64 win.

Cliff Omoruyi and Mo Dioubate carried the Crimson Tide in the first half, wrapping up the first 20 minutes of play as the only Alabama players in double-figures. Mark Sears stepped up in the second half, ending the game with 22 points.

Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide advance and will play the winner of the Saint Mary’s - Vanderbilt game on Saturday.
