The No. 1 Auburn Tigers BEAT No. 17 Kentucky inside Rupp Arena for the first time since 1988, clinching a share of the SEC Regular Season Title! Miles Kelly was HOT in the first half, accounting for 14 of Auburn’s first 21 points. Chad Baker-Mazara and Tahaad Pettiford were productive offensively as well, CBM with 16 first half points, Pettiford with 11. Kelly, Baker-Mazara, and Pettiford were responsible for 44 of Auburn’s 49 first half points. Auburn led for all but 19 seconds of the game, the Tigers largest lead was 22, (65-43) 5 minutes into the second half. With the win, Dylan Cardwell surpassed Jaylin Williams, becoming the all-time winningest player in Auburn Basketball history. Up next for the Auburn Tigers: a road trip to Texas A&M and another matchup with Alabama inside Neville Arena to wrap up the regular season.

News broke yesterday that Auburn and Arizona will be playing a home and home series starting in Tucson in 2025. Arizona’s date to travel to Auburn has not yet been determined.

Bruce Pearl and Nate Oats have both been very successful when evaluating transfer portal talent and bringing in guys who fit their style of play. Miles Kelly and Chris Youngblood have been two transfers (Miles Kelly to Auburn, Chris Youngblood to Alabama) that have been playing incredible basketball as of late.

Auburn, 26-2 on the season and 14-1 in SEC play, travels to Lexington this weekend to play Kentucky in Rupp Arena. The Auburn Tigers have not won inside Rupp Arena since 1988 — will this be the team that ENDS AUBURN’S Rupp Arena losing streak? Kentucky’s Lamont Butler (shoulder) and Jaxson Robinson (wrist) had both been out with injuries but returned to the court for Kentucky’s matchup with Oklahoma earlier this week. Butler ended up fouling out and Robinson sat the second half after reaggravating his wrist. Otega Oweh completely took over that game and led Kentucky to a victory over Oklahoma. If Lamont Butler is limited on Saturday, can he do it again?

Alabama, 23-5 on the season and 12-3 in SEC play, travels to Knoxville for their first matchup agains Tennessee this season. Alabama and Tennessee’s greatest strengths are each other’s greatest weaknesses. Alabama ranked 1st in total offense, Tennessee ranks 14th in total offense. Tennessee ranks 1st in points allowed per game, Alabama ranks 16th. Will Zakai Zeigler and Jahmai Mashack bother Alabama on defense? Will Tennessee be able to keep up if Alabama turns this game into a track meet?

Auburn and Alabama both got wins on their home court this weekend with Auburn beating Georgia for the second time this season and Alabama beating Kentucky for the second time, both completing season sweeps.

Mark Sears bad BACK-TO-BACK 30+ point games, which is an incredible accomplishment by the Alabama star. Sears hasn’t looked like him self at some points throughout the season but seems to have his shot back. Which other Alabama player do you think is his offensive sidekick? Aden Holloway? Grant Nelson?

Auburn is on a historic run this season but what needs to happen when the NCAA Tournament/March Madness rolls around for this season to be considered successful? Would Auburn making it back to the Final Four be enough or do the Tigers need to win the National Championship for this season to seem successful? On the topic of historic runs, Auburn currently has 14 Quad 1 wins, 4 behind the all-time record which is held by UConn who had 18 during the 2023-24 season. All 4 of Auburn’s remaining games are currently QUAD 1 games so the Tigers have a chance to break that record before tournament play begins.

Auburn returned home to Neville Arena after a hard-fought win over Alabama to host the Arkansas Razorbacks. Auburn escaped with a 67-60 win over the Razorbacks to improve their record to 24-2 on the season and 12-1 in SEC Play.

Johni Broome lead the team with 16 points and 13 rebounds, Tahaad Pettiford lead the team in assists. The Tigers remain atop the conference and are in the drivers seat of the SEC Regular Season Championship race.

After an emotional loss to in-state rival Auburn, Alabama hit the road to play Missouri on their home court. Nate Oats emphasized the importance of getting back on track fast due to the level of competition online the conference but fell short in Columbia. Sears lead the team with 35 points in Alabama’s loss.
