In Mark's gospel we see Jesus speaking to his disciples and explaining a parable that he just told. Jesus then describes the reason for speaking in parables to his disciples and to us. In today's message we see the purpose of LIGHT, the purpose of HEARING and the purpose of a MEASURE.

Mark chapter 6, we come to an interesting passage. Jesus returns to HIS boyhood home only to be belittled... Implied in the text is something that is all around us, something that is grossly unfair...and it's practice today is more relevant than ever...

Today, our text compares the first anointed King of Israel, with the second anointed King. Saul and David are two different leaders. Saul symbolizes a failed King because he rules as men do. David on the other hand is a different type of leader. It's these differences that we concentrate on in today's message.

Today, we discover three important truths in David's attempt to move the Ark of God to Jerusalem. Worship, desire for God's blessing and the presence of God is not enough...there is more that is needed.
