CJ Stroud can only be described as a monumental gift from God to Ryan Day, and Day used Stroud's talents to the best of his ability. Unfortunately, due to poor defensive coaching, Stroud will have likely (if he decides to return this could be a moot point) finished his career at Ohio State with no Big Ten Titles, no National Titles, and no Heisman Trophy. Out with the old, in with the new. Whether the new is Kyle McCord or Devin Brown will be determined in the spring or fall camp. I think regardless of who starts the Buckeyes are in good hands, as Ryan Day has a phenomenal resume at developing QBs.

With the 2022 College Football season over, it is time for me to release my 2022 All-Big Ten team (with bowl statistics included). Today, we will be discussing my offensive selections on my 3rd, 2nd, and 1st team, along with a brief mention of some honorable mentions. The Big Ten conference had plenty of great players this year, especially at RB, where Blake Corum and Chase Brown were Doak Walker Award finalists. Michigan and Ohio State dominated the offensive selections, with Minnesota and Nebraska making sizeable appearances as well.

It means more in the SEC, specifically in Athens, Georgia. Kirby Smart and his crew just put out the most lopsided National Title Game score in College Football history, beating TCU 65-7. From the beginning, it was clear that Georgia was the more talented and balanced team, but by the 2nd quarter, it was a proven fact that these two teams didn't belong on the same field (from a matchup perspective of course). Regardless of the boring game, both teams did the most they could with the resources they had, and both have an incredibly bright future.

The Nittany Lions will have success in 2023, in part because of their huge win in the Rose Bowl. What I watched this past Monday was a slow, physical peeling of Utah to its core. This culminated in an unfortunate injury to Cameron Rising and the effective end of Utah's Rose Bowl victory hopes. Both of these teams will be solid in 2023, with Utah likely returning QB Cameron Rising. For Penn State, however, this team will have a level of talent and greatness on their roster that they have not seen since the 2017 season. RBs Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen might be the best duo in the nation, and with a solid defense and a high-ceiling QB in Drew Allar, the ceiling might be limitless.

Jim Harbaugh reportedly told reporters at the Queen City News today that, "Although no one knows the future I think I will be coaching Michigan next year". While that statement is essentially meaningless, Harbaugh has been mentioned several times as a potential candidate for NFL jobs ever since he stepped foot into Michigan, and yet he is still with the Wolverines. Regardless of the decision coach Harbaugh makes, the Wolverines will be loaded in 2023 with QB JJ McCarthy, WR Roman Wilson, LB Junior Colson, and CB Will Johnson returning, along with many other starters. I, along with most of College Football, expect Michigan to be a National Title contender in the 2023 College Football season.

This is the game we have all been waiting for and the matchup that no one would have predicted in the preseason. No.1 14-0 Georgia will take on No.3 13-1 TCU Monday night which should be a game of the ages. The 2023 CFP National Championship Game is expected by many to be a dominant Georgia victory, but Max Duggan and Sonny Dykes have both proven time and time again that underestimating TCU is a grave mistake. Both teams have talent and the coaching staff to utilize it. I expect TCU to cover the current 12.5-point spread and the over-to-hit.

A Loss to Georgia in the CFP would mean that Ohio State will finish 11-2 (just like last year) after starting 11-0 and that they would finish 1-2 against Top 10 teams on the year. Ryan Day's job will be further questioned by Buckeyes fans and national pundits, and there will be unfathomable pressure on the team entering 2023. We know this because of the national reaction to The Game and Ohio State's 23-45 loss to the Michigan Wolverines. However, what would a win mean for the program? I want to investigate this question today and talk about how a win would not only obviously benefit Ohio State Football, but how it would shut down some of the unwarranted questions about the team's current state. More importantly, a win over Georgia would likely give Ryan Day a chance to get even against Jim Harbaugh.

Tennessee and Clemson are two Top 10 teams who might be in the CFP right now if the pair didn't lose to South Carolina, but we have seen crazier things happen this season. Standing at 11-2, 7th in the country, and ACC Champions, Clemson has a chance to get its first 12+ win season since 2019. Tennessee, at 10-2, 6th in the country, has a chance to win their first New Year's Six Bowl game in over 2 decades. The Volunteers will be without QB Hendon Hooker and WRs Jaylin Hyatt and Cedric Tillman. The Tigers will be without star DE Myles Murphy and they will be starting Cade Klubnik at QB, who threw for 279 Yds and 1 TD in Clemson's ACC Championship Game Victory.

I have already discussed how Michigan State failed in 2022, and now Mel Tucker decided to say, hold my beer, there's more. Tucker announced today that no staff changes will be made entering the 2023 season. I think this is preposterous, especially for a program that has tremendous resources from donors to compete and an Athletic Director that was hired to get MSU back on top. The Spartans, to their credit, are doing well in the recruiting and transfer portal department, as they have 11 transfer portal commits and 15 high school commits. However, in order to contend in the Big Ten, Michigan State needs to put together a great staff.
