Luke Fickell has made his name as one of the most successful head coaches in the country. He guided Cincinnati Football to 2 New Year's Six Bowls, one of which was a College Football Playoff appearance, and he won 2 American Athletic Conference Championships. Fickell was hired by Wisconsin a few weeks ago, and now that he has hired some staff members, I wanted to spend some time today to talk about Wisconsin Football and why the program is in good hands moving into 2023.

Hearing Iowa Football pick up former Michigan players Cade McNamara and Erick All was somewhat surprising, given Iowa's history as a conservative football program. However, hearing Michigan quickly getting involved in the portal was perhaps the biggest surprise. Jim Harbaugh currently has the No.1 transfer portal class and he has the No.2 overall player in the portal in former Nebraska LB Ernest Hausmann. The Huskers themselves are dipping into the portal to replenish their losses and add depth. With Matt Rhule at the helm, Nebraska needs to reload and rebuild, now.

After last year's stunning defeat at the hands of Georgia, Michigan now knows what it takes to prepare for a College Football Playoff game. TCU will be no easy task, but the Wolverines have experience, talent, and an excellent staff against the Horned Frogs. Jim Harbaugh needs to lead his squad to have a successful first half and to take advantage of TCU's reliance on big plays. RB's Donovan Edwards, CJ Stokes, and LB converted to RB Kalel Mullings should have success running the ball and chewing clock, limiting the number of possessions QB Max Duggan has to work with.

There is no doubt that Ohio State has a lot on its plate as they take on the No.1, 13-0 Georgia Bulldogs in the Peach Bowl. Despite being +6.5 point underdogs, Ohio State is more than capable of beating Georgia and going to the National Championship Game. A balanced game plan will do the Buckeyes wonders, as I think that at points Ohio State has been its own worst enemy in the regular season. Perhaps the biggest key for a Buckeye victory is how well will Marvin Harrison Jr, Julian Fleming, and Emeka Egbuka will do against Kelee Ringo, Malaki Starks, and Christopher Smith.

Michigan State failed in 2022, straight up. The Spartans were expected to achieve 8 or 9 wins and were ranked within the Top 15 to begin the season, but they fell short of reaching a bowl game after earning a 5-7 record in the regular season. Mel Tucker has plenty of external and internal problems to deal with if he wants to bring Michigan State national success and many of these problems start with his staff.

Jim Harbaugh has earned Michigan Football its first 13-win season in school history with a 43-22 win over Purdue this past Saturday. Michigan started slow but found a dominating path to victory in the 2nd half. The Wolverines will go on to play TCU in the Fiesta Bowl while Purdue will travel to play LSU in the Citrus Bowl. The Wolverines will be without RB Blake Corum for the rest of the season as he will have to undertake an operation on his knee due to injury. Michigan still has to face Purdue and whatever team they get matched up with in the College Football Playoff, and they will have to rely on RBs Donovan Edwards and CJ Stokes to carry the ground game. Missing Corum to injury is a big blow to Michigan's chances to win it all, but with Edwards's explosiveness, the best OL in the country, and the passing game's ability to threaten teams deep, I am confident Michigan can still win a national title this year. Donovan Edwards has had 8 total touchdowns on the year and 875 total yards and JJ McCarthy had had 21 total touchdowns and 2,455 total yards. Jim Harbaugh's offense will hum along and I hope that Corum will have an amazing pro career.

Former Michigan QB Cade McNamara has announced that he will transfer to Iowa to use his final 2 years of college eligibility. With Iowa QBs Alex Padilla entering the transfer portal and Spencer Petras graduating, McNamara will be the starter for the 2023 season. Iowa Football had a disappointing 7-5 (5-4) season this year, with an elite defense combined with a porous offensive performance. There has been criticism regarding the offense all year, especially toward Offensive Coordinator Brian Ferentz and QB Spencer Petras. I think McNamara can be a difference-maker at Iowa, much like he was at Michigan.
