The legendary Vernon Reid came on the podcast yesterday (or actually we came and interviewed him at The Met in NYC) not only is Vernon one of the greatest guitarists of all time but he is a total original in the way that he thinks and expresses himself in a variety of topics regarding culture and beyond. I love following him on twitter and seeing his exchange with the people who follow him. Vernon was actually the first guest we tried to get on the podcast. I met Vernon when I first got signed to Real World back in the mid 90’s. He was there at the beginning of my recording career and so I wanted him to be at the beginning of this podcasting venture as well. We talked about everything. Freedom of speech, the joker, guitar pedals, blue tooth headphones, getting chipped, Jaco, Basquiat, New York in the 80’s ,The Black Rock Coalition and of course Living Colour, his seminal band that exploded on the scene in the late 80’s. Josh Radnor came on the podcast yesterday and went down some incredible rabbit holes concerning psychedelics, meditation, fighting in Ohio, Al Pacino, shaman, healers and how to become and maintain your light in this world. From being on a massive cultural shifting television show (How I Met Your Mother) to being a tireless creative unafraid to explore new realms outside of his comfort zone. His work as a budding songwriter/guitarist with Radnor & Lee (his project with Ben Lee) to writing and directing two films and also working on Broadway. There was much to cover and we covered it all. Ninet Tayeb came on the podcast today and the conversation was flowing really well about her wild musical journey starting on Israeli Idol where she became an overnight superstar and how that led to the discovery of her authentic voice (and the subsequent fall out that that created) And then it came around to PTSD and I brought up Ho’oponopono and that’s when the conversation really took off as we discovered that each of us were practitioners of this incredible mantra.
