FEAR = False Evidence Appearing Real
When I first saw this acronym, a BIG light bulb went off. For the first time, I realized that there's absolutely ZERO truth behind the door of our fear. Although WHAT we fear isn't real, the WHY behind our fear is. …and a lot of it has to do with the lies we believe or the lie-based stories we tell ourselves.
So, what do you do when you feel trapped by your fear?
Today's Guest answers this question and then some. This week, I sit down with 22-year U.S. Navy Veteran, Executive Director of Warfighter Advance, and Internationally Recognized Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Mary Vieten. For decades, this woman has helped American war heroes overcome their fears and severe levels of trauma. She's going to break down how we can master ours.
Dr. Mary draws from personal stories and real-life experiences while she unpacks a range of topics from hilarious military moments to serious mental health concerns. Join us as we reflect on the strength of overcoming fear and trauma, as well as the significance of showing up for those who come to us in times of need.
If you want to overcome your fears more confidently and consistently, then don't miss today's episode.

How well do you respond to things not going as planned? Are you a blamer? Complainer? Rager?
Life's detours are tough, but I've found pit stops to be even tougher. So what do you do in those seasons when you feel like your progress towards your purpose and goals is halted?…like you got out of life's race and find yourself in an unplanned pit stop confused, frustrated, or even depressed?
In today's 5 Minute Drill, I'm kicking off a 4-part series on purpose pit stops. There's a recurring theme I'm hearing from my clients and the guys in my Clutch Club that I feel needs to be addressed. If we don't address it, any goal you set will be shallow. And that's speaking from firsthand experience!
If you want a better approach to breaking through the pit stops in your life, then lock in to today's Drill. You'll get plenty of insights on resilience and how to step into a future that aligns with your values.

"I don't know who to trust these days."
How many times have you caught yourself saying that? (Be honest, it's 2024…you've been burned at some point in your life.)
But how do you move on? How do you recover? How do you build more relationships in life, sports, business…wherever…knowing you've had your trust broken?
This is something I've struggled with…I'm a trusting person. I give people the benefit of the doubt (sometimes to a fault). That's why I wanted to interview TEDx speaker and leadership expert, Rob Kalwarowsky. As a former Canadian National Team athlete who struggled with acceptance from his father, Rob understands the impact of toxic leadership and trust being broken. Together, we explore the importance of self-care and self-awareness in overcoming the negative impacts of toxic leadership and your trust being broken.
Toxic leadership and relationships impact us in all areas of life. Rob shares his journey from depression to a TED Talk, showcasing the importance and benefits of mindset and deep work. We also unpack subconscious programming and how it influences our decision-making process.
Additionally, we explore the significance of seeking professional help during difficult times. Rob emphasizes the power of asking for help when overcoming toxic situations and shares insights on how to identify toxic relationships. If you want to protect yourself from toxic people and better trust the RIGHT people, then lock in to today's episode!

How much energy and brain space do your problems and challenges take up?
Let's be honest, they take up more space than we typically want to admit. Two approaches usually happen when hurdles pop up:
#1: Complain
#2: Do everything humanly possible to find solutions to them (and don't stop until they're solved).
#2 Seems better than #1, right? That's what us high achievers do…we find solutions. But at what cost?
Oftentimes, it's burnout. Because we have a tendency to OBSESS about solving our problems, even when it's not our problem to solve. Then we wonder why we have more problems and less blessings in life.
In today's 5 Minute Drill, let's talk about how to put yourself in position to receive more blessings in life. There's a key paradigm shift and process surrounding life problems that I want to share with you. I believe with every bone in my body that it will position you for more blessings and miracles in your life.
If you want a better approach to addressing your problems and put yourself in better position to receive more blessings, then lock in to today's Drill.

The more you think you're in control, the more you're likely to lose it. I've learned this the hard way. And I was the athlete who grew up on the phrase, "Control the Controllables."
But what if the so-called controllables aren't fully controllable?
On my latest episode of the Coming Up Clutch with J.R.™ show, I sit down with Joey Feste - a guy who once described himself as a "recovering control freak." Joey is the Senior Managing Partner of KM Capital Management and has been advising some of the top players in the NFL for over 36 years. During our interview, we got real about Joey's journey through sports, business, and life and how he overcame the pile of challenges that were out of his control. If you want to feel more confident when you're dealing with things out of your control, then lock in to today's episode.

Today, we're going to talk about what to do in those moments where you feel under attack by the people closest to you. When I say under attack, I'm talking about those moments when something was said to you that triggered negative emotions, or when someone called you out on something you didn't like being called out on. This topic means a lot to me because, if I'm being honest, the passionate half-Italian athlete in me has failed SO many times in these moments. But, I've learned a ton from them and want to share a strategy that's going to help you stay strong in those moments instead of falling apart.
Lock in to find out how to turn challenging moments into powerful, win-win opportunities.
