From all-time leader in wins to unemployed, but still finding joy in life. Whaaaaat?
Yep. And that's just part of Mike Pinto's story.
For 15 years, Mike built the Southern Illinois Miners from the ground up into one of the winningest and most respected organizations in professional baseball. Mike was the all-time leader in managerial wins with 770, and had 13 winning seasons in 14 years! But, in 2021, Mike showed up to work and learned that the Miners organization and his winning streak would end due to circumstances outside of his control. Talk about a major life and career transition.
During our conversation, Mike unpacks his innovative process of "what else thinking" that's helped him consistently generate new ideas and kept his teams at the top. We discuss the balance between innovation and distraction and how Mike's ultimate goal of fostering a great culture guided his decision-making.
Mike talks about the importance of making the most of opportunities and encourages you to cheat life as long as you can. He shares his philosophy of "Stage Five Players," urging you to be present, work on improving your skills, and not get too preoccupied with things beyond your control.
If you want to learn more about Mike's inspiring journey and experience more joy amidst the adversity in your life and career, then don't miss today's episode.

Confidence. When you see the word, what comes to mind?
"I want more of it."
That's typically the response I get from people. What about you? What would your life and leadership look like if you had more confidence?
On today's episode of the Coming Up Clutch with J.R.™ show, I sit down with Paul Epstein - the man who took the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers from #28 in sales to #2. NUMBER 2! I'd say it took some confidence to walk into a role in what seemed like a lose-lose situation. That's Paul's M.O. The guy has a track record in the NFL and NBA for making great decisions and turning low morale teams into confident and courageous overachievers, even in the most uncertain of times. And we tap into all of that on today's show!

For so many years, I made God's vision for my life and career my idol. I admit, I loved the vision He gave me more than God himself. That's a problem…a BIG problem.
Ever been accused of having an agenda? Ever been around people who seem to always have an agenda?
I ask because I had to get slapped upside my figurative head about this. Now, I could always discern who loves their vision more than God. It's pretty obvious because their agenda oozes out of them.
In today's 5 Minute Drill, I'm going to get real about agendas and our motives with others. Stop lying to yourself - we're all guilty of having an agenda - at home, in our professional lives, in random conversations…everywhere. And I had a recent epiphany that I want to share with you that I turned into a Drill.
If you want to make sure you're putting yourself in the best possible position to influence and attract people who can accelerate you, then make sure to lock in to today's Drill.
LET'S GET IT!

"I can't believe it's June."
Yep, we're past the halfway point of the year. 😳 Are you on track to achieve what you set out to? …or are you off track?
The reality is, when the calendar flips to June, the early panic button starts to get hit for many high achievers. No one likes being behind or being off track, right? It's a horrible feeling.

I'm talking EXPONENTIAL growth, not just INCREMENTAL growth.
Well, that's what today's 5 Minute Drill is all about. I'll show you exactly what you need to do to make exponential progress before year-end. The strategy is actually a lot more simple than you think. So, if you want to achieve BIG things by year-end, then lock in to today's Drill.
