Welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum. Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I discuss making sure everyone has the same expectations when starting a game. It's important to make sure everyone know what they're in for and/or to be considerate of the time that people are setting aside to play Magic. If we aren't considerate, others may feel as though we're wasting their time.

This week's technical section is a little more theoretical than usual. I focuses on having a plan. Make sure you have a strict focus on how to develop a deck with a plan as a means to make sure everyone gets the maximum amount of playing in.

This week's set retrospective: Urza's Legacy! A follow up to one of the most broken sets of all time. If Urza's Saga was the artifact set, Urza's Legacy is the enchantment equivalent.

Welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum. Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I conclude my interview with Loreley Weisel from The Vorthos Cast. We talk some more about representation across the Magic: the Gathering universe. We touch on areas where Wizards is doing a good job, areas that need improvement and what you can do to help it along!

Welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum. Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I talk about getting my collection organized. Generally, I discuss the joys of playing Magic for a long time. I look back on how my collection grew and why I'm finally sitting back down to get it organized.

This week's technical section focuses on my little experiment that I discussed a couple weeks ago. Asking people their theory behind attacking or targeting me. I've seen some success. I've just had to ask creative questions to make people re-think their strategies.

This week's set retrospective: Urza's Saga! Perhaps the most broken set of all time.

Welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum. Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I talk about making your own decisions. Doing your own research. Coming to your own conclusions. Making the best call, for yourself. It turns out, asking others to do the leg work in certain situations isn't always the correct move.
This week's technical section focuses on asking creative questions to divert attackers. Nothing super technical, really. Just a trend I've noticed of late.
This week's set retrospective: All three Portal sets! Great art. Hidden gems. Great redundancy for the commander format, in some cases.

This week's technical section focuses on the five different steps within the Combat Phase. A quick who's who of how to navigate things like first strike and other subtle combat nuances.

This week's set retrospective: Exodus!! We're right in the middle of the ramp up to the most powerful point in Magic's history.

Hello and welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum! Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I link up with my good friend and fellow Ryan from Commander Social Podcast. We discuss nerd culture as our children grow up. We discuss the proper times to introduce certain cultural enrichments to our kids.

This week's technical section is regarding how we might attempt to teach a brand new, never played Magic before, person.

Today's set retrospective: Stronghold! The last of the multicolored sets until the year 2000. Tons of great cards came from Stronghold. It might be our best set so far!

Hello and welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum! Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I relive some of the personal parts of the Magic Fest experience. I lean in on some of the good times I had in Las Vegas last weekend and discuss what makes these huge events so special. Meeting up with friends. Reliving old memories with family members. Jamming games. All those and more made the list.

This week's technical section is regarding what can be organized at Magic fests or other big events to help encourage community inclusion. How do we become better players at these events? By volunteering as Magic teachers for the day? If you're a newer player, would that be beneficial to you? Let me know your thoughts on how to make things even better. All the social media coordinates are included below.

No set retrospective today as I'm still recovering from a lack of sleep, nutrition and general well being. Las Vegas will do that to a person!
