Commander ad Populum

Hello and welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum! Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I talk about how playgroups kick it together. Both at the local game store scene as well as at your own homes. What do you eat? What do you drink? Is your scene as social as my scene find out today!

I skip this week's technical section to keep the show on time because we have a long set retrospective.

Today's set retrospective: Tempest! It's huge and it's got a ton to offer many different formats. It's the set that got people hooked on Magic.

Hello and welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum! Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I discuss building and fostering a local play group. I lean on lessons that my family reminded me of at my sister's wedding, last weekend.

The technical section for today looks closely at the subtle rules behind Cumulative Upkeep.

Today's set retrospective: Visions! It continued in the steps of Mirage. Groundbreaking cards for Commander. Mechanically, flavor fully and ascetically. Great art from top to bottom!

Hello and welcome to another very special episode of Commander ad Populum! Commander for the people, by the people, for the people.

This week, I have another Facebook-submitted topic. Following that, I delve into the technical section of the show: a quick look at some game rules or how to sharpen an edge, in-game. Finally, each episode concludes with an MtG set retrospective. A mini review of a set from Magic's past.

Today's community topic comes by way of the Commander ad Populum Facebook page. I discuss how I think about, and tackle, building a Commander deck on budget.

The technical section for today covers Magic's priority system and using words to have you opponents do some of the work for you.

Today's set retrospective: Chronicles! Did it ruin Magic, or did it grow it into the game it is today? Tune in to hear my thoughts on the matter.

Today's community topic comes by way of the Commander ad Populum Facebook page. I discuss what Magic means to me. I give my thoughts on what I think people can relate to, as well. Finally, I touch on what, I think, Magic can do for us outside the game.

The technical section for today covers how I start to think about building a manabase in an upcoming Golgari deck I've been thinking about.

Today's set retrospective: Ice Age! A huge expansion that set the stage for years to come and introduced some awesome Commander cards that still see play today.
