US blue-chip shares fell on Tuesday although biotechnology stocks out-performed. Energy stocks fell in response to a softer oil price. Shares in Disney fell 1.1% after receiving poor reviews to its latest release "Alice Through the Looking Glass". Shares in Apple also lost 0.5%, weighing on the Dow Jones index. After being down by 149 points the Dow fell by 86 points or 0.5%. The SP 500 index fell by 0.1% while the Nasdaq gained almost 15 points or 0.3%.
Ahead: In Australia the March quarter economic growth figures are released with the CoreLogic RP Data home price index and Performance of Manufacturing index. In China the purchasing manager indexes are released. In the US data on construction spending and car sales are released with the ISM manufacturing index and weekly housing finance data.
