Welcome to my conversation with Tracy Smith, founder of Kitchen Table CEOs. Tracy is a professional writer and brand strategist who works with women entrepreneurs to tell their brand story in a way that attracts their ideal client and create content that elevates their business to new levels. Her work has graced pages of more than 50 publications, been read by millions worldwide, and, most importantly, helped a lot of women “CEOs” achieve their goals and follow their dreams to build a business of their own!
Tracy shared her thoughts on the biggest challenge that leaders face today and a commonly held belief about leaders that she passionately disagrees with.
We dove into the name “Communicate to Lead” and what that means to her as well as talked about how she’s used her communication strengths to lead her clients and even her family.
Here’s what you can expect in the episode:

Welcome to the very first episode of Communicate to Lead.
I bet you know a few leaders who inspire you and who you look to for leadership guidance. I definitely do!
When the pandemic hit us last year, there were some great examples of great leaders and those who weren’t ready to lead.
I’ve always been passionate about leadership and what makes a truly great leader. I’m talking about those leaders who know when to listen and when to speak, who know their strengths and weaknesses, and never hesitate to communicate that to the people they’re leading. I’ve also been inspired by leaders who don’t necessarily have the title, but they’re still leading. Their communication is clear, concise, and compelling enough to inspire others to take action.
Great leaders possess a clear vision and focus. And they know how to communicate that vision, so others buy into it.
When you communicate clearly and effectively, your team knows what to expect of you and what they need to do.
Two aspects are important when communicating with your team, and it’s even more important when your team is working remotely:
Whether you choose to communicate more often or listen more deeply (or perhaps you decide to do both!) I hope you found the tips in today’s episode helpful.
