Please join us on Saturday March 9th, 2024 at Aria in Prospect! We are thrilled to once again invite you to join House of Heroes Connecticut in our largest annual fundraising gala. This year’s theme “Las Vegas Nights” will be a salute to Veteran’s service including full dinner service, open bar, and entertainment brought to you by the Timmy Maia Music Experience. The night will be centered around the presentation of our annual William J. May III Service Above Self Awards. As always, outstanding raffle prizes and silent auction items will be offered with plans to incorporate Vegas-style games and entertainment into the fundraising mix!

Our official re-emergence after a Covid-induced hiatus calls for an extra jubilant theme, so bust out your most colorful, glittery, or sequined ensembles and prepare for a spectacular "Mardi Paws" celebration. Everybody Loves LolaJudy Umstead has been an animal control officer for 20 years so saving and caring for animals are her passion.Last year when she was diagnosed and treated for cancer, she decided to do something she always wanted to do but had put off. She wrote a children's book about her beloved dog Lola. The story follows the journey of a naughty, little Labrador retriever who got into trouble and had to find a new home. Then she found her home with Judy who had faith in her that she was really a good dog, and how she became a wonderful therapy dog. She visits hospitals, schools, assisted living facilities and even goes on TV! Then she became a Police Comfort Dog for The Town of Watertown where she has her own vest, badge and ID.She continues to go wherever she is needed and that why.... Everybody Loves Lola!A portion of book sales will go towards helping animals in animal cruelty cases!
