Katherine Wiggs, a Nurse Practitioner called into Community View Point to talk about her company having a fund raiser for Impact Melanoma in memory of one of our co-workers, who died in January from Metastatic Melanoma. Sandra Feldman was a longtime resident of Yulee, and had worked for our company for over 6 years. Impact Melanoma is a 501(c)(3) organization, working to decrease the incidence of Melanoma in the United States. They are nationally recognized for their programs for kids and youth. IMPACT stands for "Improving Melanoma Prevention through Awareness, Care & Teaching. "

Andrea A. Siracusa, APR, Director of Community Relations came by the show to talk about Dreams Come True and how it's has been using the power of a dream to bring hope and joy to every First Coast child battling a life-threatening illness. On average, they fulfill approximately 160 dreams for local children. Dreams can range from week-long trips to Walt Disney World, to meet and greets with celebrities, shopping, or even a special getaway to a tropical location. They have granted more than 4,000 dreams for local children. In addition to dream-fulfillments, they also host “special times” for our dreamers, which include holiday support and special accommodations to local sporting and entertainment events. Earl Acosta, Firefighter and Guns N Hoses Promoter called into the show to talk about Jacksonville’s Guns N’ Hoses event which is put on by the Fraternal Order of Police Foundation and is their largest fundraiser of the year. The first event took place in 1999. They have raised more than 1.5 million dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the FOP Foundation, which gives to several local charities. The firefighters and police officers are all amateur boxers who began training for the fights in January. The matches consist of three one-minute rounds. Fighters will be in full pads and safety equipment. Throughout the years, each side has claimed the title numerous times. The winner receives the coveted title belt that they display for the year.

Michele McManamon and Lori Mason from Operation New Uniform came by the show to talk about Operation New Uniform. ONU is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to equipping veterans with the skills to succeed in business. ONU offers an intensive 3-1/2 week training program that provides honorably discharged veterans the behaviors, attitudes and techniques required to gain the careers they deserve. Program materials are donated courtesy of Sandler Training and the program is offered at no cost to the veterans accepted into the program. ONU helps Veterans gain the skills, confidence and training to obtain the careers of their dreams!

Jaime & Tami Kent called in to the show to talk about their mission The NO MORE Foundation, a non-profit faith based ministry with a vision to see the body of Christ educated, mobilized, and empowered to be the hands and feet of Jesus, answering the Matthew 25:35 call to 'care for the least of these'. NO MORE is a battle cry for the church and a personal declaration that we have seen take root in the lives of believers as they have responded to the heart of God. They also invited the community to come out to the NO More Experience on Sunday March 31 at Chets Creek Church with partners ALL Pro Dad.

Malcolm Johnson and Charles Kemp came by the show to talk about the 25th Annual Charity Golf Tournament and giving back to the community by granting scholarships to the youth in the community.
