  • Abortion Biz CEO Owns Up to Racist History

Real Abortion News #177 - Originally aired May 2021

On April 17 the New York Times published an article by Planned Parenthood Federation’s CEO, Alexis McGill Johnson. Johnson said it was finally time for Planned Parenthood to stop hiding the eugenic and deeply racist principles promoted by their founder, Margaret Sanger, which have been perpetuated by generations of Planned Parenthood leadership. The largest abortion business in the nation has long been accused of targeting minorities for abortion. Even their minority staff recently confirmed the racist behavior of the organization’s management.

CEO Johnson now says, “We pledge to fight the many types of dehumanization we are seeing right now….” Given the organization’s refusal to see abortion as dehumanizing to women and their preborn sons and daughters, is Johnson truly coming clean out of a sense of enlightenment or because it is politically expedient to hide the groups true beliefs?

  • Rochester Based Pro-life Group Announces Expansion Plans to NYC

Real Abortion News #176 - Originally aired May 2021

On April 30th the Rochester based pro-life organization CompassCare announced plans to expand services into New York City. CompassCare serves women considering abortion with ethical medical care and comprehensive community support, giving them the confidence to say ‘no’ to abortion and have their babies.  After CompassCare developed the capacity to serve 30% of all women seeking abortion in Rochester, abortions plummeted by over 50%. The group then expanded into the Buffalo region in 2018 to replicate those results. Now 1 out of every 3 women seriously considering abortion in Buffalo is contacting the organization.

Setting their sights on New York City CEO, Jim Harden, notes, “There are more abortions per capita in NY than anywhere else in the U.S. If New York is the abortion capital of the U.S. then NYC is the heart and where we need to be.”

  • A New Take on Abortion?

Real Abortion News #175 - Originally aired May 2021

One pro-life leader may have a new take on abortion. In a recent online rally Jim Harden, President of CompassCare, said, “Abortion is not just another social issue. Abortion is a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be human under God.” He went on to say every woman and preborn baby are equally valuable because all humans are made in the image of God. Harden insisted abortion is a problem too big for government to solve stating, “Abortion is a God-sized problem only the Church can solve.”

Quoting scripture Harden asserts that God commands His people to “Seek Justice, reprove the ruthless, defend the orphan, plead for the widow.” Harden then declared, “There is no one more widowed than a woman so abandoned by society that she has to fear having her own child.”

  • New York Legislature Targets Pro-life Pregnancy Centers Again

Real Abortion News #174 - Originally aired May 2021

A New York bill targeting pro-life pregnancy centers for investigation passed the health committee with a vote strictly along party lines, Democrats voting for and Republicans voting against. Pregnancy centers are small non-profits providing women facing unplanned pregnancy with the resources she needs for her and her baby to thrive. These organizations are all privately funded and run mostly by volunteers. Despite there being no formal complaints or accusations of wrong-doing lodged against these organizations, they have drawn the condescending gaze of pro-abortion Democrats. Why? The goal of the bill is to have the investigative body, “[establish] specific recommendations…to address any…negative impact in the state identified through the study.” Now that New York has done all it can to decriminalize the violence of abortion they seem to be setting the stage to criminalize peaceful pro-life work.

  • Biden Admin Halts FDA Safety Regulations on Chemical Abortion

Real Abortion News #172 - Originally aired May 2021

Chemical abortion represents almost 40% of all abortions. On April 12 the Biden Administration suspended all FDA safety regulations on the chemical abortion pill regimen RU-486 for the duration of the pandemic. The FDA placed limits on the use of chemical abortion pills given the 400 percent increased risk of serious complications for women using them as compared to surgical abortion. During the pandemic the FDA has defended its restrictions in court against a very aggressive abortion lobby. The lifting of established restrictions permits women to receive the drugs via mail to take at home, without confirmation of pregnancy or physician oversight. Eliminating restrictions reduces the quality of women’s health care, putting them at greater risk of harm.

If cutting safety restrictions harms women, is this decision meant to improve the lives of women or satisfy a political agenda?

  • What Can We Do About Abortion?

Real Abortion News #171 - Originally aired April 2021

Because we are all made in the image of God, we are all equally valuable and deserving of protection. Abortion is not just another social issue. It is a fundamental misunderstanding of what it means to be human under God. Richard John Neuhaus once said, abortion is “the greatest human rights cause of…all times….” He went on to say, “We are not the ones who imposed…the lethal logic that human beings have no rights we are bound to respect if they are too small, too weak.”

The prophet Isaiah says, “…defend the orphan, plead for the widow.” There is no one in America today more widowed than a woman thinking abortion is her only choice. There is no one more orphaned than a preborn baby whose death is perceived as a solution to life’s problems.

  • Is There a Link Between Prenatal Diagnosis and Abortion?

Real Abortion News #169 - Originally aired April 2021

Prenatal screening carry as much as a 50% false-positive rate. This is disconcerting, especially when women so often choose to abort based those flawed test results. In a recent USA Todaypiece, practicing Ob/GYN Dr. Christina Francis opines, “Those are stunningly high margins of error given the stakes.” She goes on to ask the haunting question, “How much more often are we wrong?” Another study reveals women who undergo prenatal testing receive a diagnosis that is a misclassification of a disease or condition 9.2 percent of the time. One of the most common errors relates to cardiac malformations, an indicator for Down syndrome. Sadly, a Healthlinearticle notes, “100 percent of women in Iceland who receive a positive test for Down Syndrome choose to terminate the pregnancy.” That number is 67 percent in the U.S.

  • Is the Equality Act Unfair?

Real Abortion News #168 - Originally aired April 2021

The incendiary Equality Act is a top priority in the Biden administration. It passed in the House and now faces a split Senate where Vice President Harris could cast the deciding vote.

The bill contains language threatening the rights of pro-life healthcare professionals refusing to participate in abortion. Because the bill overrides religious liberty protections, one attorney warned, “If enacted, [the Equality Act] would open the door for widespread litigation….”

Dubbing the bill ‘Equality Act’ is ironic. The bill’s enshrinement of abortion as a human right subjects not only preborn babies to unequal treatment, but also those who seek to protect them. The irony assumes an even darker hue since it is the very same pro-life medical providers the Equality Act disfavors who believe all people, without qualification, are equally valuable and deserving of protection.
