According to New York State Vital Statistics, in 2001 in-home chemical abortion represented just three out of every one hundred abortions. Now, chemical abortion represents one out of every three in New York. Nationwide it is estimated that chemical abortion accounts for nearly 50% of all abortion. The trend is gaining speed. Whether due to increased abortion restrictions driving up demand for the pills, increasing social and financial life-pressures, or COVID normalizing in-home tele-medicine, the movement away from surgical to in-home chemical abortion poses a four hundred percent increased risk to women, under supervision of a physician. The risks are even higher if women purchase and consume abortion drugs illicitly from off-shore suppliers or outside the FDA protocols for physician care. Is the abortion industry motivated by women’s health or by profiting from a woman’s crisis?

When a woman faces an unplanned pregnancy, she cannot see the radiant beauty of a future past the storm clouds of her crisis, distracted from peace by roaring waves of emotion and the shifting sands of circumstance. That is all she can see. But she needs someone next to her on her life’s windswept shores, describing to her through care and kind words, the quiet but powerful Son of God, until the face of her soul begins to sense the warmth of His presence. And, as the eye is drawn to the light, her soul turns to glimpse the source and finds herself face-to-face with the wonder that is His salvation. When God’s glory and majesty dawn upon us, we can no more pay attention to a personal crisis than one could feel big while standing on the yawning edge of the Grand Canyon.
The Biden administration is at odds with the Supreme Court for refusing to hear an emergency appeal to block the Texas abortion ban. Not only is Texas the first state the Supreme Court has permitted to ban the practice since 1973, the Texas law carries a $10,000 fine for anyone convicted of performing or aiding a woman in acquiring one. Meanwhile the court is hearing oral arguments in December on a Mississippi case that could very well gut the Court’s long-standing abortion ruling Roe v. Wade in the spring.
All this has the Biden administration flustered, considering the expansion of the court, providing Biden the ability to pack it with a new liberal majority. Is the Supreme Court’s job to protect citizen rights from government overreach or an insurance agency, protecting the interests of the political elite?

Chemical abortion represents one third of all abortions, according to the New York State Department of Vital Statistics. Nationwide it is estimated that 50% of all abortions are chemical abortion. The movement away from surgical to in-home chemical abortion carries a four hundred percent increased risk to women. The risks are even higher if women purchase and consume abortion drugs illicitly from off-shore suppliers or outside FDA protocols.
Chemical abortion is a two-drug regimen. The first drug ends the life of the baby. The second drug expels the baby from the womb. Many women after taking the first dose regret it and want to save the life of their baby by reversing the effects of the drug. Medical offices, like CompassCare Pregnancy Services, are providing women with the choice save their babies using progesterone therapy.

Paul referred to himself in this moment of redemption as one “untimely born” (I Cor. 15:8) or as some interestingly translate it, “traumatically born,” forcibly removed from the womb. Paul was birthed traumatically from death to life, Jesus abruptly terminating his maturation into sin, bringing him into the kingdom of God.
By presenting Himself to Paul, Jesus made him an eyewitness to His resurrection. The risen Jesus sums up salvation from sin and death. The resurrection is the exclamation point that the kingdom of God has come.
By allowing Texas to ban abortion and by setting a date to hear a Mississippi case, restricting all abortion over 15 weeks gestation, well below the court’s 24-week age of viability, the Supreme Court may be signaling a reversal of Roe, leaving the states to decide the abortion debate for themselves. Picking up on these signals New York Governor Hochul held a press conference announcing a new state abortion tourism campaign, cementing “New York State as a safe harbor for those seeking abortion care.” Governor Hochul insisted during the campaign launch, “the rights of those seeking abortion services will always be protected here,” saying, “Lady Liberty is here to welcome you with open arms.” Governor Hochul appears to be using the power of her office and tax payer funds to actively promote abortion tourism.
On September 13, Governor Hochul unveiled a plan to codify Cuomo’s 2019 abortion expansion bill known as the Reproductive Health Act. After passing the act, nothing was done to interpret and enforce it. Madam Hochul in her new role as governor wasted no time amassing a team of abortion allies, enshrining abortion as a human right. The governor’s website states, “The Governor directed the Department of Health to take immediate action to develop and widely distribute modern and comprehensive [medical] provider guidance on the right to provide abortion care and to ensure updates to existing regulations are adopted so that medication abortion can be more easily accessed….”
Many are concerned that these new rules will weaken the rights of conscience for medical providers who refuse to participate in abortion.
The face of abortion is changing in two ways. First, given the recent activity of the Supreme Court responding favorably to state abortion restrictions, it appears that they may return the abortion problem to the states to decide for themselves how they want to deal with it. A majority of states would outlaw the practice, causing women to travel to less restrictive states to get their abortion. This would centralize abortion into abortion hubs like New York. Second, there is an emerging market demand for abortion pills purchased online and sent directly to a woman’s house either illicitly or via telehealth medical providers. Chemical abortion now represent 40% of all abortions in the U.S. NY Governor Hochul committed to deregulated it in NY. Chemical abortion carries a 400% increased risk of serious complications compared to surgical abortion.
Is the Supreme Court signaling an end to Roe v Wade? After Mississippi passed the Gestational Age Act limiting abortion over 15 weeks gestation, an abortionist filed suit. The lower courts struck the law but the Attorney General of Mississippi appealed to the Supreme Court. The high court agreed to hear the case. This is surprising because the court has never before entertained abortion cases which restrict the practice prior to the age of viability, set at 24 weeks. Then Texas passed a bill, making all abortions after a heart beat is detectable illegal. The court refused a request for an emergency hearing. So, for the first time since Roe the Supreme Court has permitted a State, Texas, to almost completely ban the abortion.
After 48 years, is the Supreme Court letting the states decide the issue for themselves?
